A producer who worked on Jerry Springer has been arrested for the murder of her deaf sister.
Jill Blackstone, who also produced hit US programmes such as Sally Jessy Raphael and Rosie, reportedly called police on Monday and told officers her sister Wendy and three dead dogs were in her garage.
But when emergency services rushed to the property in San Fernando Valley, where her sister was found, officers thought her suicide note looked suspicious.
According to US gossip site TMZ, they believe it may have been written by Blackstone, who was subsequently arrested.
Her 49-year-old sister lived in Studio City and her body showed no outward signs of trauma. A toxicology report is expected to be carried out in coming days.
Blackstone has also produced Dr. Drew, Sharon Osbourne, The Real Talk Show and a number of big US court programmes.
She was being held on $1 million bail and released late Wednesday afternoon.
A law enforcement source also claimed the case is being further investigated after it was sent back to the LAPD.
