Doldrums "RUNNERUP"

Doldrums may not have any specific album plans on the horizon, but a new track has surfaced from the Canadian electronic pop twisters. Equipped with a skin-exploring music video is new tune "RUNNERUP."

Like past pieces, the new tune finds Airick Woodhead's gentle coo presented alongside a squish of textured sonics, various digital washes and quixotic melodies. The video is likewise quizzical in nature, seemingly finding a group of close-quartered people having projections of octopi ripple across their bodies.

"The idea was to show the skin out of context, as flesh, sort of alien," Woodhead explained in a statement of the video, which was shot in his Montreal apartment. "The way it turned out you don't know whether it's hot or gross, which is basically how I feel about everything."

While Doldrums haven't offered up any specifics on their next release, the project are holding a "special online / teleportation event" later this fall. Doldrums are looking to connect with people to arrange a webcam-heavy online performance. More info on the upcoming presentation can be found over here.

The clip is essentially a toothache waiting to happen, with mounds of cotton candy, jawbreakers, suckers, jellybeans, chocolate bunnies, gummy bears, marshmallows, ice cream and straight up sugar getting eaten, thrown around, smeared on faces and melted down into a colourful sticky mess.

Ever feel trapped?

Ever feel hemmed in by your global image, by the artifice that you, yourself have constructed?
Ever feel like you want to hurl a crucifix-shaped lightsaber through your life to date, thus re-inventing yourself in the process?

Well, that's exactly what The Weeknd does in the new video for 'Starboy'.

Vancouver power trio La Chinga dropped their sophomore album,Freewheelin', through Small Stone Records early on in 2016. It's a pure testament to the magnitude of hard rock, but in case you missed that memo, they're back to remind you with a slightly NSFW video for the album's opening cut, "Gone Gypsy."

If you've ever wanted to know what it's like to become part of a classic, balls-out rock'n'roll band, hop into a dirty old van from the '70s, and head out across the country spreading rowdiness wherever you stop, you can vicariously enjoy that sense from the "Gone Gypsy" video. We're talking bikes and bonfires, stubbies and cut-offs, pyrotechnics, partying, pulp and porn — all of which underlines the head-shattering retro riff worship of La Chinga's bassist/frontman Carl Spackler, drummer Jay Solyom and guitarist Ben Yardley. There ain't nothing subtle about this.

View the "Gone Gypsy" video below, and may the rock be with you.

Abbotsford, BC-based indie rockers Little Wild have just revealed that their next album will arrive under the name Bodies, and the band are revving up to its release with a brand new video for lead single "Weeks."

The clip was filmed, directed and edited by Josh Mitchinson with help from Nick Metzger, and it captures the band performing against a backdrop of projected live visuals by Jaimi Wainright.

"It's incredible what you can produce with a bed sheet, a bunch of incense, a projector, an overhead projector, food colouring, a pretty sweet camera, a bunch of beer, two guys who know what they're doing, and some other idiots who have no clue," the band's Layton Keely tells Exclaim!

As for the song itself, a press release describes it as a cautionary tale about "the way life can stretch a man so far into a crestfallen wisp that that it pulls the limbs from his sockets."

See the tune get matched with its psychedelic new video in the player below.

As for Bodies, the album is due out sometime in November.

After recently delivering a trio of reissuesFaith No More are back to plugging their big and oftentimes creepy 2015 reunion disc, Sol Invictus. Knives, humiliation and conic dishonour are all a part of the new video for the record's "Cone of Shame."

Described in a press release by bassist Billy Gould as "very dark, and beautifully cinematic," the Goce Cvetanovski-directed music video was filmed in a tavern in Macedonia. There, a drifter gets involved in some weird local doings, which escalates from a ringleader gnawing on a young woman's shoulder, to a sex romp, to a moment where the out-of-towner is likely wondering why he brought a blade to a gun fight.

You'll discover who feels the most shame by giving the video a peep down below.

UK label Little Rocket Records recently launched a North American division, and Edmonton punks the Old Wives are among the first to sign on with the new office. To celebrate the move, they've unveiled a brand new video for "The Grown Up / The Fuck Up," and Vivid has the premiere.

The band's back catalogue will be getting re-released through their new label home, so it seems like the perfect time to revisit "The Grown Up / The Fuck Up," which originally appeared on the group's 2013's EP Here We Go Again.

The track has been given a fresh visual treatment that throws back to the VHS era, capturing fuzzed-out retro performance footage of the band — after an intro featuring some questionable vintage video clips.

"The video was filmed in our jam space. Shaun was really drunk," the band explained in a statement. "Getting to work with Little Rocket Records is pretty awesome — it's like we're a big team. Everyone is pitching ideas, everyone is communicating, and we are all pushing in the same direction."

That collaborative spirit will result in a new album called Three, which is set for release early next year. For now though, check out the video for "The Grown Up / The Fuck Up" in the player below.

Hooton Tennis Club - 'Katy-Anne Bellis'

Hooton Tennis Club

Hooton Tennis Club have always sought out the magical in the ordinary.
So new single 'Katy-Anne Bellis' - a superbly contagious indie pop romp - owes it origins to some rather mundane circumstances.

An ode to an ex-flatmate, the off kilter riff and keening vocal wrap themselves around a gentle lament, one that explores friendship in all its transitory nature.
The video for the single is a raucous, colourful affair, as the band explain:
"We decided to throw a soiree in the living room of the enchanted 'Garlic Mansion' for our song inspired by the wonderful Katy-Anne! The house she used to live in - a house of plenty - never a dull moment! People come and people go, and in this house all are celebrated. ¡Viva la garlic mansion!"
Check it out now.
'Big Box of Chocolates' will be released on October 16th.

Röyksopp have always existed in their own universe.
The Norwegian duo operate on their own plane, utilising out-there elements of pop cultures but reconfiguring them in fresh ways.

New cut 'Never Ever' is a case in point. Laced with colour, the production features guest vocals from fellow Scandinavian talent Susanne Sundfør.
Now the visuals are online. Offering “a disco-esque alternative universe” it's a real treat for the eyes, as the duo explain:Image result for Röyksopp - 'Never Ever' ft. Susanne Sundfør
“We have, in the past, tended to go for a bit of a sombre sentiment in our videos, pristine imagery with a hint of darkness,” says Svein. “But we wanted to turn that around this time, and make something raw, shabby and messy but predominantly light-hearted. At the core lies a reaction to the current paradigm of selfies and social media, where a flattering facade, overshadowing substance seems to be not only the accepted norm, but something to strive for. There are way too many artists that fuel this notion that one has to be both rich, delinquent, successful & sexy, all at the same time. We thought it refreshing to counter that and hence we´ve gone off on a different tangent for this video. It’s not completely unflattering, but it’s quite unflattering.”

ThiDaniel is one to watch.
A talent who can seemingly do everything, his sound - pared down, laid back R&B vibes with some hip-hop overtones - has that chilled out West Coast feel.

So naturally, the video for new cut 'Purple' heads straight to California. Taken from upcoming EP 'Lilac', the sonically seductive track is one of ThiDaniel's finest.
The visuals were handled by Lauren Dunn, who turns 'Purple' into the soundtrack of a fiery relationship spread against the backdrop of the California desert.

The MLB post-season is almost here, and if Toronto quartet Sportsfan's band name didn't already tip you off, they're ready for some October action. Showing their support for Wild Card hopefuls the Blue Jays, the band have just unveiled a stadium-ready single called "Stroman."

Dedicated to Jays starting pitcher Marcus Stroman, the pop-rock cut is all about rallying behind the team while sitting deep in the bleachers with a Bud in your hand.

Surrounded by a mound of equipment, the video has Sportsfan rocking an infield in non-regulation gear. Vocalist/guitarist Ali Haberstroh makes the best effort to sport a bit of blue and white; six-stringer Simon Outhit dangles a cigarette out of his mouth while cracking out his solo.

You'll find Sportfan's tributary rally anthem down below.

After having his 99.9% crowned the winner of this year's Polaris Music Prize,Kaytranada has revealed a regal and retro music video for the collection's outstandingly groovable "You're the One."

Directed by Shomi Patwary, the video pays tribute to various pieces of vintage pop culture, from a Martin logo bite, to a narrative inspired by Eddie Murphy vehicle Coming to America. With the latter in mind, the clip finds a group of women enjoying a night dancing around an apartment filled with VHS tapes and a Super Nintendo before being tempted into calling a hotline to meet up with a travelling prince. As it happens, the connect is Kaytranada.Image result for Kaytranada "You're the One" (ft. Syd)

The video concludes with a fancy party at which the overalls-adorned producer shows off moves for various dignitaries. You can see it all play out down below, where you'll also find a recent interview Kaytranada and River Tiber did for the Red Bull Music Academy's animated series The Junction.

While Edmonton trio Diamond Mind are about to head out on a Canadian tour in support of their forthcoming debut LP, Heavy Metal Sunshine, the band's music is helping score a Roswell-style shakedown in the new video for their "Horseless Coach."

A statement from the band's Liam Trimble explains that the music video was "largely inspired by the life of Frankie Dwyer Rowe and her experiences as a child in Roswell, New Mexico, during the summer of 1947." It casts the band as secret service and science types who get put in contact with a blue-skinned observer of malls and park scenes.

You can explore the video by giving it a peep down below, while Diamond Mind's Heavy Metal Sunshine is out October 7 via Wyatt Records.
