Alice Olivia is already - in certain quarters - a pretty big deal.
Huge online, her imposing YouTube figures tower over most other newcomers.
Yet she hasn't, truly, broken out of this. Perhaps the biggest cult figure in the country, new single 'Shot You Down' could mark her puncture into the mainstream.
Ice cool pop music delivered with shades of classic R&B, it's a moody, atmospheric gem, an exercise in passion and restraint.
Set to enter 2017 with incredible confidence, Alice Olivia has handed the video for 'Shot You Down' to VIVID.

Halloween seems like the perfect time of year for a band named Casper Skulls to make a breakthrough, and that's just what the noisy Toronto indie rock outfit are poised to do. They drop their new EP Lips & Skullstoday (October 28), and in addition to the new audio release, the band have also shared a video.
"Love Brain" hears Melanie Gail St-Pierre taking over lead vocals, and it has been given the visual treatment, courtesy of director Shawn Kosmerly. He pairs the grunge-y, fuzzed-out punk jam with scenes of a young woman running away, and literally setting her past on fire.
So when the pair tumbled across one another - uncovering a mutual taste for Ricardo Villalobos and David Beckham - they knew that they had to make it work.
And work they did. Left field pop with some off kilter melodies, the duo plucked their name from a book of Russian history found in North London music (and alcohol) establishment The Finsbury.
Set to headline London venue the Shacklewells Arms on December 9th, Otzeki are ready to unveil powerful new cut 'Already Dead'.
Bristling with venomous energy, the taut songwriting matches dreamy vocals to those minimalist beats.
The accompanying visuals underline the project's DIY approach - tune in below.
The concept for the video arose from a set of mannequin heads that guitarist Josh Benoit happened upon and bought at a thrift store. His plan to use them in a future video project has now come to fruition, though it's his bandmate Gareth Williams who really got the most familiar with one particular severed head.
"I hadn't made a video with so little prep time before, but I felt pretty confident in Gareth's ability to sell the bond between himself and the head — I think they really connected," Benoit tells VIVID "We shot it pretty much in sequence one evening and I had finished editing it within a week. We essentially tuned out the analytical voice asking 'What the fuck does this mean?' and went on feeling for this one."
Nevertheless, there are still traces of a statement being made about loneliness and isolation and the strange ways humans deal with those experiences in the video.
See that translate onto the screen by watching the premiere of "Hold My Head" in the player below.
