Girl Ray seem to have struck gold.
New single 'Trouble' - out shortly via Moshi Moshi - is a rough 'n' ready piece of DIY pop, blessed with divine hooks and the sort of chorus that lingers on the mind for hours afterwards.
Everyone at VIVID absolutely loves it, so we're delighted to find that Girl Ray have gone and shot a full, proper video for their debut seven inch.
'Trouble' sets a game of rounders against their morning routine, and features a dozen random acts stitched together. Directed by Alex Cantouris, it's a fun clip and seems to match the gleefully haphazard delivery of the music itself.
"We wanted the "Trouble" video to be centred around a big game of rounders and getting ready for it in the morning," says Girl Ray's Poppy Hankin. "We each came up with twelve different random-ish things that we would be filmed doing, and then the morning after filming those we went to a park and tried our best to do some kind of baseball/rounders hybrid game. We're very confused about sport in general and that definitely shone through."
Watch it now.
