Lazy Habits are a London-based six-piece whose sample-delic sound matches generations, styles, and continents.
Fusing New Orleans jazz with hip-hop, pop, and more, the band's jaw-dropping live show has taken them to historic venues such as London's Roundhouse and KOKO hubs.
Festival stalwarts, the band's new album 'The Atrocity Exhibition' drops on May 27th and finds them moving even further in disparate yet exciting directions.
New cut 'Answers With Questions' is a case in point. Heavy duty fare, it's informed both by Lazy Habits' live show and their growing confidence in the studio.
To many, the band were simply part of the Noughties indie bubble, but in reality their material cuts much deeper than some press-driven trend.
A much-loved phenomenon, the band's long-awaited new album 'KIN' finds The Duke Spirit going full circle. Simon Raymonde - Bella Union boss and former Cocteau Twin - returns as producer, re-starting a relationship that fuelled the band's debut album.
As a result, 'KIN' feels both refreshed and entirely familiar. Out on May 6th, the group will trail material with a series of intimate live shows.
Pirate Radio is able to premiere 'Wounded Wing', and it's a subtle offering from the band. Boasting guests vocals from guest vocalist Mark Lanegan and piano by Simon Raymonde, it's a moving, intriguing, and poetic work, one that wrings out fresh detail.
Check out the video below.

As previously reported, the track features elastic, bouncing bass lines and a thick, hypnotic drum groove. We find the band playing the song on a soundstage, cast in the glow of various coloured lights. Also on board are a group of older folks dancing along to the tune.
Fittingly, frontman Warren Spicer sums up of the smiley scene: "I have spent all of my days in life just waiting for the time to come alive."

Experimental Toronto electro-rock posse Holy Fuck recently revealed plans for a new record called Congratulations and shared singles "Tom Tom" and"Xed Eyes." Now, that former track has been treated to an accompanying music video.
The clip was shot in Romania, where the band brought together a cast and crew consisting of old friends and collaborators, as well as locals they met while in Zarnesti. The unsettling video brings together shots of the stunning locale, as well as captivating, dramatic performances from the recruited actors.
Entire Cities released their latest EP Rock Chapelearlier this year, and now the whole record has been given the video treatment.
The full EP is now accompanied by a 20-minute short film that came to fruition through collaboration. They worked with Charise Aragoza, a dancer and choreographer known for her work with Maylee Todd and HATAW, as well as the animators behind Fake Palms' "YTMATLDPH" video.
The result is an entrancing visual journey through the six-song release that stars Aragoza dancing by fires, through forests and in fields. Animated illustrations are superimposed atop the performance footage, adding an additional layer of motion to the already movement-filled clip.
Watch the visual accompaniment to Rock Chapel in the player below. If you want to catch Entire Cities live, their next show will take place at Wavelength's Canadian Music Week NeXT showcase on May 5 at the Silver Dollar in Toronto.
Now, they've offered up a new video for the synth-pop single "Boyfriend." As previously explained, the track was based on Sara Quinn's experience dating a woman who was still hung-up on her boyfriend.
The Clea Duvall-directed video draws in an impressive supporting cast, including Rachel Antonoff, Sarah Ramos and Mae Whitman — and some adorable furry friends. Watch the duo go through an array of video concepts and sets in the span of three minutes in the player below.
Love You to Death is due out on June 3 via Warner Bros.
Mahalia is only 17 years old, but already she's a gifted storyteller.
With that soulful voice and a stunning way with words the prodigal talent released her debut EP 'Never Change' last year.
'Back Up Plan' is the follow up. Out via Atlantic, the semi-autobiographical tale has a tender edge, the tale of someone on the outside of the fame game, forced to look in.
Mahalia explains:
“It’s one of the first songs I wrote when I was really young and it came out of watching reality programmes on telly and really sensing that just ‘wanting to be famous’ was never going to be enough. I guess I’m also saying that as much as you need to follow your dream, there’s always a price to pay.”

Montreal's John Jacob Magistery are readying their debut full-length Phantom i/Are you too sensitive? for release this summer, but before it arrives, Exclaim! is giving you an exclusive first look at the brand new video for album cut "Carol."
The track showcases the band's penchant for alt-folk that blends the beautiful with the dystopian, and the new video adds some extra drama to the song. The music opens sparse and melancholic, but once the whole band get going in full swing, the action onscreen picks up as well.
The video was directed by Emile Lavoie, while filming and production was carried out by Martine Aimait Les Films. The clip stars John Jacob Magistery's singer Johnny Griffin alongside Nastassia Markiewicz as actors rehearsing in an empty theatre — but the drama isn't limited to just the stage.
Phantom i/Are you too sensitive? is expected to arrive on July 1, but you can watch the clip for "Carol" right now. Just hit play below.

We’re pretty much in denial about summer being over Down Under.
A few days off work, a hippie van and a couple of cute friends was the only excuse needed to drive out of Sydney for a quick getaway. Kicking it on Tori’s farm means quad bikes, chasing cows and making tacos. That, and telling terrible ghost stories whilst actually freaking each other out. We were meant to hike to some distant waterfalls in the morning, but foreboding clouds rolled in, alongside a decidedly un-summer-like chill. Fuck it. Next time. Here’s what we did instead.
