GAIKA "Blasphemer" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*
GAIKA
London is a sprawling mass, a mesh of cultures, languages and people.
Even amidst this chaotic blend, however, Brixton still stands out as being utterly unique. It's a People's Republic, a staunch example of community in the face of consumerism - and it's under threat from developers, planners and modern business.
So it's no surprise to find GAIKA - one of the capital's most creative and confrontational artists - at work in Brixton. Blending the visceral visual power of Basquiat with a dose of Death Grips and Tricky, new track 'Blasphemer' is online now.
The video shows GAIKA stripped to the waist, wearing a ceremonial mask as he thrashes against the invisible cords that strap themselves around him.
Powerful, vivid stuff, you can tune in below.

FIELD STUDIES "Fear On The Rise" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*
Field Studies
Field Studies seem able to expand by moving inwards.
The hotly tipped Nottingham four-piece seem to continually expand, allowing their sound to reach epic realms.
Alongside this, though, the band apply a deeply personal lyrical touch, one that is softly poetic while also becoming truly affecting.
New single 'Fear On The Rise' arrives on October 30th through Denizen Recordings, with Clash able to premiere the accompanying visuals.
A blur of different scenes and imagery, it matches the simple with the meaningful - at one point, a hand breaks open a fortune cookie to reveal the message: "People are just being nice..."
Check it out now.

JUSTIN BIEBER "Sorry" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Justin Bieber"Sorry" (prod. by Skrillex & Blood) (video)
Following last weekend's leak of Justin Bieber's "Strong" ballad with Selena Gomez, the Canadian pop icon has unveiled yet another preview from his forthcoming Purpose. This one's an island rhythm-wriggling collabo with Skrillex called "Sorry," and it's been premiered with an appropriately dance-heavy video.

The track features production work from Skrillex and Blood (née Blood Diamonds), who have sun-scorched synths, triumphant faux-brass and infectiously shuffling beats spilling through the speakers.

Though smooth, Bieber admittedly comes into the track with his tail between his legs and confesses he's made his fair share of mistakes. On the redemption trail, he croons: "Is it too late now to say sorry? 'Cuz I'm missing more than just your body."

The singer isn't anywhere to be seen in the vid, but a ton of neon-garbed ladies end up filling the screen with plenty of swerved choreography and the occasional salutatory sign.

You can see the vid below, while Purpose hits stores November 13.

JENNYLEE "Never" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Jennylee"Never" (video)
We'd recently learned that Warpaint bassist Jenny Lee Lindberg was going rogue for a bit to deliver an album as Jennylee. Now, following an album trailer, the Los Angeles artist has unveiled the first proper taste of Right On!via a video for its "Never."

The clip bounces back and forth between shots of Lindberg singing the song in the studio with her band, and a few silhouette-heavy scenes of choreography. Sonically, "Never" reaches out with a decidedly '80s sounding piece of post-punk, which maintains a low-key moodiness with its watery bass and cloud-cover vocals about all the things "that make me feel bad."

You can take it all in below, while Jennylee's Right On! will be revealed in full on December 11 through Rough Trade

HUDSON MOHAWKE "System" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Hudson Mohawke"System" (video)
Revisiting this year's excellent Lantern, producer Hudson Mohawke has shared a new visual for album cut "System."

Rather than feature footage of his native Glasgow, however, the clip offers up aerial shots of Manhattan. It's a stunning, high-definition experience that perfectly pairs with the song.

The video was directed by Dominic Flannigan and Nic Hamilton. Of the clip, Flannigan shared the following statement:

A favourite from Lantern, with 'System' Hud Mo was inspired by some tear-out Jeff Mills offset with those minimalist classical arpeggios - and when considering an associated film I thought of classic rave visuals and cg stock art of the late 90s where the grid of the city would be superimposed with circuit boards and processors. Here we updated it for 2015, commissioning our own 4K helicopter shoot over Manhattan which Nic Hamilton treated, placing in a CG environment that evokes Philip Glass "1000 Airplanes On The Roof."

Watch the "System" video below.

Hudson Mohawke has several North American dates coming up with The-Dream, including a Canadian stop in Toronto on November 13. You can see the complete schedule here.

RUSH "Closer To The Heart" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Rush"Closer to the Heart" (live video)
In the words of Paul Rudd, prepare to be Rushified! Canadian prog-rock trioRush are releasing their R40 Live concert film on November 20, and, as a preview, they've rolled out the clip for "Closer to the Heart."

This song comes from 1977's A Farewell to Kings, and it finds guitarist Alex Lifeson doubling up with both a 12-string acoustic guitar and an electric guitar. After plucking his way through the mellow folk intro, drummer Neil Peart bing-bongs his way through a short break on bells before the tune turns into the kind of complex rocker that Rush are known for.

Watch the clip below [via A.V. Club] and — to once again quote Paul Rudd — get some Neil Peart all up in ya.

DURAN DURAN "Pressure Off" ft. Nile Rodgers, Janelle Mon'ae (release)

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Duran Duran"Pressure Off" (ft. Nile Rodgers & Janelle Monáe) (video)
Duran Duran have stepped into the future with their new Paper Gods album and have brought Chic's Nile Rodgers and Janelle Monáe along for the ride. Together, they're keeping things rhythmic in the new performance-styled video for the record's "Pressure Off."

The video is relatively straightforward, with the classic UK crew cranking out the sparkling post-disco grooves from an all-white room. Rodgers is there as well to lend some plinking guitar rhythms, while a leathered-up Monáe goes toe-to-toe with Simon Le Bon to swap vocals.

Escape the rat race and watch the band's jam, a few high jumps, and other assorted pressure-relieving measures down below.

EXCESS FLESH "I Don't Race" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Jonathan Snipes"I Don't Race" ('Excess Flesh' teaser) (video)
Jonathan Snipes has kept things creepy with scores to Starry Eyes and Room 237, as well as with his beatsmithing for experimental rap outfit clipping. Now, he's delivered a twisted sneak peek of his score to the upcoming Excess Flesh via a choreographed torture scene from the film.

The clip begins with the disturbing sight of a shackled woman (Mary Loveless) being abused and forced to dance by her roommate/captor. This soon gives way to a neon-lit fantasy scene where the victim is decidedly more in control of the situation. Here, Loveless stomps out a Soft Cell-styled electro-pop piece called "I Don't Race" alongside a troupe of subservient dancers. This is juxtaposed against back-to-reality projections of the entrapped woman vomiting.

Be warned: the mix of grim and glammy moments is pretty uncomfortable, but you can give the clip a peep below. Filmmaker Patrick Kennelly Excess Fleshpremieres October 30 at Los Angeles' Downtown Independent theatre. You can find out more about the film over here

ALPHA OMEGA "Ghost Town" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Alpha Omega"Ghost Town" (video)
As previously reported, Swollen Members rapper Prevail is about to issue new music with his nephew Neph as Alpha OmegaThe Concept drops November 13 via Kitsilano Records, but you can peep the new, creepy-crawly video for their already previewed "Ghost Town" single right now.

The boom-bap track strings together a heavy beat, a few ghostly and operatic vocal melodies, and source recordings touching on some distinctly supernatural business.

Visually, we find Neph using a flashlight to get around a spooky abandoned building, while rapping about being a "legend in the making." Following some talk about an "amazing voice from the past," veteran rhymer Prevail jumps on the beat.

SAMPLE ANSWER "Textile Baby" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*
Sample Answer
Sample Answer is a 'Good Boy' at heart - hell, the songwriter even chose that as the title of his debut EP.
Pop with a real sense of edge, the hip-hop production is set against a melodic sense that will worm its way into your sub-conscious.
New EP 'Textile Baby' drops on October 30th, with the material being produced, recorded and mixed by Iestyn Polson - who has previously worked with Patti Smith and David Bowie.
Clash is able to unveil the video for the title track, and it's an emphatic statement of intent. Packed with energy, you can tune in below.

LATERNS ON THE LAKE "Faultlines" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*
Lanterns On The Lake
Lanterns On The Lake are one of the country's most under-stated gems.
A band to be absorbed slowly, the subtle hues of their songwriting gently contrasting yet reaching austere emotional peaks.
New album 'Beings' will be released on November 13th, and it finds the group truly hitting their stride. "The ideas came effortlessly and in abundance," vocalist Hazel Wilde says of the writing process. "At first we had no expectations, no prescribed ideas of how we wanted the songs to turn out. We were just writing and playing together because that's what we'd always done."
Clash is able to premiere the video for new track 'Faultlines' and it's a daring, dramatic document. The lighting is subdued, the emotions strained, with the soaring music matching the taut scenes within.

FLORENCE & THE MACHINE "Delilah" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Florence and the Machine"Delilah (The Odyssey - Chapter 6)" (video)
Festival-sized pop act Florence and the Machine have revisited their How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful LP, treating "Delilah" to a new music video.

The clip was directed by Vincent Haycock and it lays on the biblical allegories thick throughout its six-minute runtime. Florence is visited by a TV preacher before facing some demons and having a large group lay hands on her. There's also some serious dance scenes.

Watch the video for "Delilah" below.

HINDS "Garden" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Hinds"Garden" (video)
Following their recent Tiki bar run-in with Nardwuar, Spain's Hinds are getting up to some public drinking in their new video for "Garden." The garage-pop band's nature-and-art appreciating video is streaming online now.

The clip, which is in support of the act's forthcoming debut LP, Leave Me Alone, finds the foursome spending a lot of time with a sartorial fella. Sometimes this means pounding beers or snorting crushed flowers, but other times they're transporting paintings through fields, going for leisurely drives, or combing rivers for a fine piece of fish. This is all scored by the jangly whimsy of "Garden."

You can peep the Pedro Martin-Calero-directed video below.

Leave Me Alone lands January 8 via Mom + Pop/Lucky Number, but the band are currently on tour in North America. They're set to play Toronto and Montreal later this week, and you can get the show info below.

BALOJI "Unite & Litre" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*
'Unité & Litre'
The DR Congo is one of Africa's most impoverished countries - yet it is also one of the most creative.
New rapper/producer Baloji comes from Congo, and it's this background which informs both his music and lyrics.
Rapping in Belgian, the sparse yet incredibly funky nods towards new electronic developments and the timeless rhythms of Congolese culture.
New EP '64 Bits & Malachite' is forthcoming, with Baloji sneaking out the video for lead cut 'Unité & Litre'. In one word? Totally inspiring.
The lyrics include some scathing swipes at Congolese culture, while the dance routines are simple yet astonishingly effective.
Check it out now.

PETITE NOIR "La Vie Est Belle" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*
Petite Noir
Petite Noir is, simply, one of a kind.
Thankfully, the South African artist is busy finding like minds. Debut album 'La Vie Est Belle / Life Is Beautiful' is out now, and finds Petite Noir extolling the virtues of 'noir wave'.
Rooted in pan-Africanism and Afro-futurism, noir wave "challenges the old perceptions of Africa and champions the new, forward thinking creativity coming from the continent."
Director Alan Del Rio Ortiz has shot a clip for 'La Vie Est Belle / Life Is Beautiful', with creative director Rochelle Nembhard adding: "With this video, I wanted to play on the manipulation of space - what it means to us in a world of design, technology and architecture, and how the spirit functions in relation to all these different virtual "realities". Noirwave is constantly stepping into new spaces and breaking down the conceptions of what those spaces mean and represent."
Check it out now.

LOGIC "Young Jesus" ft. Big Lendo (release)

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Logic"Young Jesus" (ft. Big Lendo) (video)
Logic has long used the nickname "Young Sinatra," but evidently he's now setting his sights even higher, since he just released a video for his track "Young Jesus."

The clip for this rapid-fire, '90s-alluding rap track is a colourful, comical affair in which Logic and guest Big Lendo play multiple roles in a car-jacking drama. The rappers appear as cooks in a kitchen, car thieves, police officers and innocent bystanders, making this an entertaining romp and a very good match for the song's funky grooves.

Watch the self-directed clip below. Logic's album The Incredible True Storywill be out on November 13 through Visionary Music Group/Def Jam Recordings

DRAKE "Hotline Bling" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Drake"Hotline Bling" (video)
Well, the rumours were true: Drake is giving us his "Hotline Bling" video tonight, and you can watch it in all its neon-soaked glory now.

Overall, the 6 God keeps it pretty minimal, as casually rug-cuts in some sort of Rubix Cube-inspired wonderland. A few ladies help him out along the way, but it's mainly just the Aubrey Graham show — not that there's anything wrong with that.

Check it out for yourself below. Trust us, you'll be glad you did.

FAITH NO MORE "Sunny Side Up" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Faith No More"Sunny Side Up" (video)
What better way to start your day than with an early bird breakfast and aFaith No More gig? Well, it doesn't quite pan out exactly like that in the new, seniors centre-set video for Sol Invictus single "Sunny Side Up," but viewers will get to see their fair share of old timers rockin' out in the clip.

The video starts relatively chill, with a group of retirement home folks simply slicing into their eggs and toast. A band help everyone through their meal, though, with the use of squealing guitars and a megaphone.

Some seniors start feelin' a bit randy off the sounds of the music alone, but once those a.m. meds arrive, the otherwise grayscaled day gets blanketed in a warming rainbow's glow.

You'll find the aged Faith No More analogues bringin' the house down via the player below.

PUSCIFER "Money Shot" release

*THE  SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Puscifer"Money Shot" (video)
Puscifer's new album is called Money Shot, and with Maynard James Keenan's band having already shared the title track, they have now given it a video.

The song is a monstrously fuzzed-out, aggressive rocker, and the accompanying video is an intriguing portrait of underground wrestling. A couple of dudes in a masks make a deal involving a glowing suitcase, à laPulp Fiction. Eventually, the whole thing erupts into a nut-cracking slingshot fight.

The clip was directed by Puscifer along with Tim Cadiente. Keenan said in a statement, "Tossing out a few more cryptic Luchador flavored bread crumbs with this one. Confused? Don't tweak your noodle. As with all of Puscifer's and Billy D's journeys, linear has no place here. Just embrace the chaos and enjoy the ride."

Money Shot will be out on October 30 through Puscifer Entertainment. See the group's North American tour schedule here

PARTNER "The Ellen Page" release

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Partner"The 'Ellen' Page" (video)
Ellen Page came out as gay last year, and now Sackville act Partner are celebrating the move by the Hollywood actress with a single called "The 'Ellen' Page."

This fuzzy, rocking tune finds frontwoman Josée Elise comparing herself to Page, pointing out that they have similar voices because they both hail from Atlantic Canada. The singer declares, "But it's more than just a regional thing / 'Cause if it's 50 percent Maritime, it's 50 percent lesbian." This gives way to a punning chorus in which Elise sings, "We're on the same page."

The accompanying video shows — who else? — Ellen Page dancing against a white background. The footage comes from 2007's The Tracey Fragments and was edited by Colin Medley.

Below, read Elise's statement about the song; scroll past that to check out the video. Also below, see Partner's tour schedule.

I remember it well: it was a cold night in February, almost too cold to go outside. Lucy and I were keeping warm with some cans of Alpine when we heard the news: Ellen Page has come out as a lesbian. We high fived, we hugged, our joy knew no bounds. Maybe we knew it in our hearts all along; to hear it from Ellen herself was so special. She was free.

The light of a soul unburdened can be blinding. We felt it then and we can see it now: Ellen Page is kicking ass, and she's more herself than ever before. Though the idea for this song wouldn't strike us for another year after her coming out speech, when it did, it was so easy. We were, and are, still inspired.

This song is intended to be a celebration: a coming out anthem, a source of pride, strength, and joy, a chorus of solidarity. It's a tip of the hat to Ellen Degeneres, who has done so much to shape the pop culture climate into a place that is safer for many of us, and to Ellen Page who is doing so much good work and making us Maritime lesbians (and lesbians the world over) so damn proud.

There is still so much work to be done, but the fact that we are able to sing this song is a triumph. It is a privilege to have our voices heard, and that privilege is predicated on the long and harrowing history of queer folks of all identities, and especially those with intersectional identities who have faced (and continue to face) realities more complex and dangerous than we can fully understand. We are profoundly grateful to those before us, and ever-mindful of the struggles of those who do not share in our privilege who are working and making art alongside us.

So, if you're on the same page, this one's for you.
