It was a dark and stormy night. And that's when it all happened. And there wasn't anything anybody could do about it. It was the night when...

#Amazon bought Whole Foods!

Amazon was never happy with only destroying American shopping malls. They were still hungry and roaming the countryside for more and more.

Sextile (Credit: Kiu Kayee)

Sextile are a formative part of the Los Angeles underground, a group whose noise-driven approach fuses the more groundbreaking elements of cold wave and post-punk with a deeply modern sense of the visceral.
New album 'Albeit Living' is out on July 14th, with its title being half-inched from a Circle X song.
VIVID is able to premiere new cut 'One Of These', a feedback-drenched cut that conjures visions of a sunburnt apocalypse.
Cloaking take charge of the camera work and projections, with the Los Angeles three piece cast in a new light.

Belgian hip-hop artist Woodie Smalls has always had a thirst for the unknown.
Releasing a full album and a mixtape, he was eager for his next challenge, and wanted to pull down a few barriers in the process.
Woodie hooked up with the Aloft Hotel in Brussels to open a temporary studio in the opening days of May, using the talents of guests both known and unknown.
The full project will see the light of day shortly, with VIVID able to premiere new cut 'Tokyo Drift'.
K1D hops on the beat, and the chemistry between the two allows Woodie Smalls to open up to a fresh level.
Tune in now.

M.I.A. dropped a video for a new single called "Goals" last week, and now the genre-jumping musician has offered up some more fresh visuals.

This time, she's revisiting a track off last year's A.I.M., giving "Finally" the music video treatment.

The clip finds M.I.A. planting flags and flowers into the otherwise desolate desert landscape, and cruising across the sand on a motorbike and on top of a hummer. Later on, there's some relief from the heat thanks to a few interspersed seaside shots of rolling waves.

Check out the video for "Finally" below.

Ride finally return with their first new album in more than 20 years today (June 16), and to mark the arrival of Weather Diaries, the shoegaze pioneers have unveiled a video for "All I Want."

The clip arrives courtesy of director Jade Mortimer, who says she based the video off the song's "pace and atmosphere."

"On first hearing the track I pictured some kind of journey taking place, so I came up with a simple idea of this character on this journey," she continued. "He's running, from or to something, and he's sweaty, tired, exhausted and in pain. Throughout the video his journey and performance heightens and intensifies. Capturing his emotion with the use of lighting and camera movement, I wanted it to build throughout the track from beginning to end."

You can join the protagonist on his fast-paced journey by watching the video for "All I Want" below.

Weather Diaries is officially out now via Wichita, and you can stream the record here.

Sportsfan "Runner's High"

Toronto four-piece Sportsfan lived up to their band name with ode to Blue Jays pitching star "Stroman" last year, and they're keeping the athletic streak going with a video for "Runner's High."

The track comes from the band's recent sophomore EP Holy Hell, showcasing their playful indie rock vibes. The accompanying video, meanwhile, was directed and edited by the group's own Ali Haberstroh and shot by their filmmaker friend Kurtis Watson.

Apparently, the clip was inspired by a trip to a Conan taping that left her wishing Sportsfan were the featured musical guest.

"As long time fans of Conan, from his Simpsons days to being king of late night, we wanted to implant ourselves in his '90s heyday and make a video that put us right there with him," Haberstroh tells Exclaim! "I took the opening throw-to from his introduction to the Barenaked Ladies from a 1998 clip overly praising the band, and poorly chopped our own band name and EP title overtop — to protect ourselves with parody law, while also making a SWEET goof."

You can see it all for yourself by watching the video for "Runner's High" below. If you like what you see, be sure to catch the band at their upcoming Toronto show this Friday (June 16) at the Baby G.

Vancouver's Needles//Pins are set to deliver new LP Good Night, Tomorrow at the end of this month, and before the release date arrives, the trio have shared a video for album cut "Miracle."

The Mike Babiarz-directed clip finds the band holed up in their jam space "in dire straits, ready to go down with the ship. Ending on their terms, playing music and taking Military grade psychedelics." As you'll see in the video, things take a turn for the weird.

As bassist Tony Dubroy explains in a press release, the band "turned our jamspace into a bomb shelter and shot this in two 14 hour days. It was hell."

Good Night, Tomorrow arrives June 30 via Mint Records/Dirt Cult.

Adna - 'Closure'

Adna (Credit: Marcus Nyberg)

It took a move, a change in location, to fully unlock Adna's artistry.
The Swedish born artist packed her things and headed to Berlin, allowing the emotional events in her life to gently decompress.
Unpacking her baggage across a 12 month stint in the studio, Adna gradually began to bring her new album 'Closure' into focus.
Out now on Despotz Records, it's a brave, intensely personal record, one that fuses sparse folk textures with something more.
The title cut has gained a full video, and it's a vivid portrait of a tender, breathlessly creative artist.
Tune in now.
Catch Adna at London venue the Sebright Arms on June 21st.

Now that we have all the details behind the War on Drugs' anticipated A Deeper Understanding, the band are throwing some more promotional weight behind the record with a new video.

The clip comes for the recently shared "Holding On," with video directed by filmmaker Brett Haley with concept by Krysten Ritter. It stars both War on Drugs leader Adam Granduciel and actor Frankie Faison (best known as Deputy Commissioner Ervin Burrell from The Wire).

To see just how the nostalgic clip plays out, you can watch it for yourself below.

As previously reported, A Deeper Understanding arrives August 25 via Atlantic. The War on Drugs also have a massive fall tour coming up, and you can see all the dates here.

Wavves "Stupid in Love"

Wavves frontman Nathan Williams got mad real in a recent episode of Viceland's The Therapist, but he's keeping things a bit lighter (but not much) in his band's latest video.

"Stupid in Love" comes from Wavves' You're Welcome LP, and the clip finds a young gamer by the name NO_SH4D3 falling for who he believes to be his pink-haired online soulmate.

Of course, it's the internet, so things aren't exactly what they seem, and the moral of the story seems to be that love is a huge scam. Watch through to the less-than-happy ending down below.
