In just two days of its release song and video "Original," Natasa Bekvalac had reason to celebrate. Her project has definitely been a success and making a video that sometimes lasted 24 and a half hours a day came to fruition. "Thank you for an amazing viewing of the video for the song 'Original' .. there srećcnija of me," wrote the singer on social networks. The attractive singer can really be proud of their work, and you enjoy the song "Original".
If there's one things fans love to do, it's to plunge virtually any comment thread on the Internet into a depressing morass of insults and ad hominem attacks against people who don't enjoy the same comic books and comic book movies or TV shows as they do.
The most recent staging ground for these geek battles was when Sir Ian McKellen insulted Superman in favor of propping up the X-Men franchise, of which he's a part, but frankly it's rare that a week goes by when at least one story doesn't pop up that gets people going.
But it doesn't particularly affect the talent most of the time; there are actors who have moved back and forth between the movie universes and yet more who work on both shows -- writers for Arrow who head over to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and producers and directors from S.H.I.E.L.D. who end up working on episodes of The CW's DC shows.
Still, almost everyone seemed to appreciate the irony of Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim taking over an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. reboot as an ongoing comic book for Marvel. During a recent interview with Guggenheim timed to coincide with Comic-Con International: San Diego, we asked: Did he hesitate at all to take on a comic tied to a competing TV series?
"I guess, yes, in the sense that whenever a comic book project of mine gets announced these days, it tends to say 'Arrowshowrunner' or 'Arrow executive producer' in the headline," Guggenheim said. Stll, it was only a momentary consideration. "I think if we were still back in like Season Two of Arrow when there were fewer comic book-based shows on the air and more was made of the quote-unquote rivalry between the two shows, I would have probably stopped to think about it more.
But here we are:Arrow's going into its fourth season, S.H.I.E.L.D. is going into its third season, it kind of feels like we're past that. There's a lot more comic book shows on the landscape, so it doesn't feel quite as egregious and truth be told, I've been writing for Marvel now for probably over ten years. So anyone who knows my work, probably is not surprised to see my name on a Marvel comic despite the fact that I'm probably more well-known at this point becuase of my connection to Arrow. But nobody at DC has mentioned it to me, nobody's blinked an eye."
Of course, it's not as though Guggenheim has ever particularly engaged in competitive squabbling with the Marvel shows -- and if he were so inclined, he would likely be even more prone to keep a lid on it now that his wife Tara Butters is one of the showrunners on Marvel's Agent Carter.
Carly Rae Jepsen will release her excellent new album E·MO·TIONnext month, and it's already proven to be a near endless supply of pop hits. Up next, she's released "Run Away with Me" as a single and treated it to a new video.
Fitting with the song's title, the video sees Jepsen running away on a trip around the world. She hits up various landmarks, and the whole thing is very relaxed and laid back. That said, she hardly acts like an over-it popstar. Instead, she seems like a normal girl from Mission, BC who's excited to check out the Statue of Liberty and the Arc de Triomphe.
Toronto-based musician Anne Douris may be known to some as part of bouncy Toronto power pop unit Stella Ella Ola, but her latest work arrives under the moniker Bossie, and she's just shared the new video for "Meteor."
Her sound is as bubblegummy as her bright pink hair, and the accompanying visuals are equally fun. An over abundance of glitter, silly string, balloons and feathers find their way into the clip (and unfortunately her eyes and mouth at times), making for a big fun mess.
There are even a handful of Canadian indie rock cameos courtesy of Tokyo Police Club's Graham Wright, July Talk's Ian Docherty and Hollerado's Nixon Boyd. And a miniature pony, of course.
If you want to catch Bossie live, she'll be playing at Buddha Bar in Toronto on September 10.
Be thankful you weren't on the set's clean-up crew that day and enjoy the clip for "Meteor" in the player below.
Vince Staples is harking back to Summertime '06 once again, this time with a video for the album cut "Norf Norf."
The clip for this hometown-repping, police-defying track starts with Staples in the back of a police cruiser. From there, he gets taken to the station where he is roughed up in an interrogation and then gets tossed into a cell. Note that the song's lyrical Spite product placement makes a whole lot of sense in light of the rapper's recent partnership with the soft drink company.
British-born/Canadian-based songwriter Tim Crabtree is about to release a new album through his project Paper Beat Scissors, and ahead of Go On's August 14 release on Forward Music Group/Ferryhouse, the track "Lawless" just got a video.
The song is cinematic folk rock number. The first couple of minutes are pastoral and pretty, but the arrangement explodes halfway through with an electrified crescendo. These dynamics are reflected in the video, as a romance between two women plays out in the form of a dramatic modern dance performance that's filled with sunshine, rain, and lush forest scenery.
The clip was directed by Derek Branscombe. Scroll past Paper Beat Scissors' tour schedule to watch it below.

Tory Lanez may not have roped in Brian De Palma to direct his latest video for "Diego," but the rapper is pulling his best Tony Montana moves in the clip. Go ahead and grab yourself some popcorn, because Lanez and his little friends have proffered a plenty-cinematic video that you can watch online now.
The track, which surfaced earlier this year, mixes Scarface references with shout-outs to Jay Z, CSI and Margiela duds. Lanez also laces his lyrics with product talk, basically breaking the scales with his profit margins.
As for the video, it begins with a spoken-word intro about hustlers and ambition, and later delivers a visual smorgasbord including a cereal meal, a less-than-playful pooch, Lanez doling out lyrics in front of a pricey classic car and his man-servant, and wild, money-waving parties at home.
If you fuck with Tony Montana Tory Lanez, you fuck with the best, apparently. You can see the guy striving for money, power and respect down below.
Action Bronson's 2015 has had him celebrated for hisnewest record, but also reviled for the"violent misogyny" of his lyrics, the latter resulting in thecancelationof an outdoor show during NXNE. If you didn't like Bronson before, his brash, bad guy behaviour inGangrene's new video for "Driving Gloves" probably isn't going to change your opinion any.
The track comes from Gangrene's upcomingYou Disgust MeLP, and the clip finds Bronson abusing a rental car with the project's Oh No and the Alchemist. After riling up an Enterprise employee, they mangle the vehicle with baseball bats and golf clubs, fill it with weed smoke, and give both the interior and exterior a graffiti-style paint job. A stowaway also apparently gets to experience the destructive joy ride from the worst possible seat.
If you so choose, you can watch them all take a stand against the rental industry via the player down below. You Disgust Mearrives August 7 viaMass Appeal Records.
Not to be outdone by her ex-husband and baby daddy Future'scollaboration with Drake, R&B divaCiarabrings her A game in the new clip for "Dance Like We're Making Love." From writhing around in the shallow end of a fancy pool (as a majestic-looking lion watches from the deck), to sporting some scandalous formalwear as she sings from a Paris-style balcony, Ciara proves she knows how to work the camera. Then of course, there's a little bit of the song's titular activity once a mysterious suitor makes his way into her palatial mansion. Watch the glamourous, steamy clip below.Jackieis out now throughEpic.
Vancouver-born, Switzerland-based musicianRykkadelivered her debutKodiakback in 2013, and now she's ready to follow it up with some new material. For a taste, she's unveiled the visuals for her brand new single "Movies," and Exclaim! has got your first look at the clip. The song itself tells the story of two rebellious lovers, escaping from "social poverty" and creating their own special reality. It was recorded in Toronto with producer Warne Livesey. "This song is about wanting what you can't have," Rykka said in a statement. "'Movies' tells the story of two rebels using a love affair as a form of escapism. They create a world inside each other to briefly leave their mundane lives. The affair will never last, but they hold on and fight until the end. Together they have strength and together they redefine themselves." The accompanying visuals were filmed inside a glacier cave at the Rhône Glacier in Switzerland and provide a rather majestic backdrop to the dark synth-pop song. The sweeping shots were directed by Brianne Nord-Stewart, and you can take them in for yourself by hitting play below.
So prepare yourself for a shock, because the style icon we all know and love has been replaced with… well, a cookie-cutter fashionista.
The 54-year-old actress has undergone an insane makeover for her role in new comedyTrainwreck, and we don't think we've been this shocked about a transformation since seeingChloe Mafia and her boob job.
To play magazine editor Dianna, Tilda ditched her other-world goddess brand to adopt flowing blonde locks and a perma tan.
The makeover is so bonkers that even people going to see Trainwreck in the States didn't realise that Swinton was in the movie.
Speaking about her role alongside comedienne Amy Schumer, the Oscar-winning actress said: "I’m delighted to say that I’m unrecognisable. I don’t know whether one would really want to be recognisable in this role. It’s a lot of makeup and a kind of tandoori tan and a wig, and that’s all it takes.
"The truth is there are a lot of women walking around rocking Dianna’s look, and I suppose you maybe didn’t ever expect to see me in it. But here we are, and it’s available for everybody. You just have to go to a big makeup counter in a big department store and you, too, can get that look."

Props to the make-up department for their skills, but fingers crossed Tilda never trades in her quirky ah-may-zingness for a bottle of bronzer.
