You have to earn your stripes before you can catch a break in Tinsel Town. Future Oscar-nominee Johnny Depp was in the original Nightmare on Elm Street and future Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence was the daughter on The Bill Engvall Show, just to name a few notables who started humbly. Here's a fun fact that may tickle peeps of my generation. Future Heisenberg and Emmy and Tony winner Bryan Cranston did the voices of some of the wacky monsters on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I watched every episode of that as a kid! Good thing Bryan was never asked to show his face on that low-rent, cheese fest. That's the biggest break.
Another person who started humbly was Lauren Cohan. Several years before AMC's The Walking Dead made her a star (and even before her season 3 arc as Bella on Supernatural, where I first discovered her), she was providing gratuitous nudity in the raunchy comedy sequelVan Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj. Cohan flashes her coconuts briefly as the titular Taj (Kal Penn) is walked in on by his parents in his dorm. During Cohan's frightened scramble to cover up, we get some okay looks at her English suck sacks during the frantic ruckus.
Glenn Rhee's a lucky boy.
