We're used to seeing her all dressed-up in floor-length gowns at fancy Hollywood bashes.
So you don't see Katie Holmes in skintight mini dresses all too often.
The star is currently shooting her new film All We Had in New York and has gone for a very bold new look.
Katie swapped her designer threads for an acid-washed denim dress with a zip up the front as she filmed a scene for the new flick in a Walmart store in Queens
The mum-of-one looked tired as she was seen pushing a trolley around the store, showing off her long legs and her cleavage in the very daring denim number.
Her eye make-up looked heavy and she carried an orange bag over one shoulder.
And Katie's daring wardrobe choices aren't the only bold steps the 36-year-old has taken for her new character.
She's also had a decent snip of her long brunette locks and is wearing her tresses in a wavy bob.
The film is also Katie's directorial debut, and is based on an adaptation of the novel by Annie Weatehrwax.
In it she plays a single mother struggling to raise her 13-year-old daughter.
