Tennis bad boy Nick Kyrgios started another storm by apparently sledging Stan Wawrinka during a Rogers Cup match.
The pair met during the second round at the event in Montreal, with cameras and on-court microphones appearing to catch the Aussie telling his opponent: “Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend. Sorry to tell you that mate.”
It's believed Kyrgios was referring to Croatian player Donna Vekic, with whom Wawrinka has been linked.
Neither Wawrinka or his coach Magnus Norman were happy with the incident and took to Twitter to state their anger at the comments.
Wawrinka said: "What was said I wouldn't say to my worst enemy. To stop so low is not only unacceptable but also beyond belief."
The Swiss continued: "There is no need for this kind of behaviour on or off the court and I hope the governing body of this sport does not stand...
"... for this and stands up for the integrity of this sport that we have worked so hard to build."
Norman added: "That was really really low Nick Kyrgios. Hope for u that u have people around that will teach u a thing or 2 about life tonight. Very bad"
However, Krygios believes that he was provoked into the reaction, telling media after the match that comments were flying back and forth throughout the contest.
Appearing to show remorse, he said: “He was getting a bit lippy with me. Kind of in the heat of the moment, I don’t know. I just said it.”
This is just the latest media storm that Kyrgios has been caught up in. Most notably, he was accused of throwing a game in the second set of his Wimbledon fourth round tie.
The 20-year-old from Canberra appeared to refuse to play against Richard Gasquet, making minimal effort to return the ball over the net, before leaving another one of the Frenchman's serves.
He was subsequently knocked out of the competition after losing the match.
It appeared to be a petulant outburst at an umpire - something he struggles to get through any match without doing.
Earlier in the year, he was forced to deny calling an umpire "dirty scum".
In last month's Davis Cup, he shouted "I don't want to be here" during his singles defeat to Aleksandr Nedovyesov. He was later dropped.
After parting with coach Todd Larkham earlier in the year, Krygios has now turned to Lleyton Hewitt for guidance in his career, with many saying that he is already off the rails.
