A pair of teenage model twins who blighted their neighbours' lives with loud music and swearing have had their ASBO lifted - as long as they behave themselves.
Taliah and Tiffany Sanderson, 19, were hit with the order after terrorising the neighbourhood with their noisy antics for seven years.
But the ASBO, slapped on the sisters in July, was due to expire at midnight tonight and a court today decided not to renew it, reports the Manchester Evening News.
The girls, both signed with Manchester’s Top Model Management agency, were told not to generate any music or loud noise including between 8pm and 8am.
But the case against the girls is likely to be dropped as the twins’ mother is in the process of selling their family home in Stockport.
The two girls have also moved into a new flat.
Stockport Magistrates Court decided not reimpose the order on them at a hearing today - giving them a reprieve.
Alex Bougatef, prosecuting on behalf of Stockport Council, told the court officers were "content" with the resolution, but warned that if any other anti-social behaviour took place the girls could be taken back to court.
The court heard the council and the girls’ legal team were working towards an “amicable and sensible resolution”.
A statement from the twins, released by their solicitor Simon Morton, read: “We are pleased to report that Tiffany and Taliah Sanderson, in conjunction with their legal team, have been working towards a positive resolution with Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.
“Today... the interim ASBO has been discharged and the proceedings have been adjourned to October 1 2015. It is hoped that on that date the proceedings can finally be withdrawn.”
The temporary ABSO imposed on the girls was intended to bring an end to a saga that neighbours claimed has been going on for seven years.
The twins, both former beauty students, allegedly played loud music late into the night and neighbours fed up of the noise called police on several occasions.
Under the ASBO the Sanderson sisters had to adhere to a number of strict conditions.
They were instructed to not use abusive, insulting, offensive, threatening or intimidating language to neighbours or their visitors or to behave in any way that caused harassment, alarm or distress to anyone they did not live with.
