Miranda Baldonado, 19, needed medical attention after the car she was travelling in with two other people was stopped by police in Arizona.
A dog searched the vehicle and a pound of heroin was discovered – wrapped in condoms.
The local sheriff's office said: "They were unable to answer the most basic of questions that a group of passengers sharing a destination would commonly know."
It was then discovered Baldonado and Valencia – another suspect in the car – had hidden additional drugs inside their "private area" as they were pulled over, the sheriff's report said.
Valencia was able to remove her package without help.
Officers recovered more than a pound and a half of heroin in total.
The third passenger – 29-year-old Michael Torrez – was on parole in New Mexico for a drug conviction.
The three were charged with several offences – including drug possession and transportation of narcotics.
Baldonado and Valencia were also charged with evidence tampering.
