Hogan revealed his ambitions when asked what politician he would like to grapple in the squared circle, saying he would rather be one than fight one.
"I don't want to be in the ring with any candidates," he said. "I want to be Trump's running mate."
In the video, published by TMZ, he then tries the title on for size and brands himself "Vice President Hogan".
Athlete Hogan was recently dropped by WWE - which removed all traces of him from its website - amid a racial slur scandal.
Tapes surfaced of the former world champion using words including "n***er" in a rant about a black man sleeping with his daughter.
The ring legend also addressed his falling out with WWE, saying the company was "the best" and that he loved them like "family".
Presidential hopeful Trump has caused a stir with his controversial remarks, including claims that Mexico was sending drugs, rapists and crime to the USA.
