Pizza pal: Daniel Sobey-Harker spent more than £300 ordering pizzas for complete strangers in the United States
A British man has spent more than £350 buying pizzas for complete strangers in the United States of America - because he was drunk.
Daniel Sobey-Harker generously put a post on social media site Reddit offering to buy a pizza for someone in the US.
But the 27-year-old got into a bit of hot water when he was struggling with payment options.
He eventually purchased two digital Bitcoins, completely unaware that they were worth £350.
Daniel revealed that he became so frustrated by the carry on and ended up getting a "tad merry" after "getting though nine beers"that he ordered 30 pizzas for strangers- and even sent one to a user in Hawaii.
On his original post as part of the Random Acts of Pizza thread, Daniel, from London, wrote: "Can someone help me (UK) buy a pizza for someone in the U.S? I'll reward whoever can get me a method that works.
"Are you in the States? Do you want Pizza? Talk to me. May have gone overboard with Bitcoins.
Bitcoins
Pay it forward: Bitcoins are new kind of currency accepted worldwide and not issued by any bank
"Like I bought two to make sure it worked and it turned out that's like $ 550. Gotta be Papa John's tho as they're the easiest to sort out [sic].
"If you want a pizza write in a comment in this thread why you want one. I'm not very eloquent right now but there's about $160-170 worth going."
Daniel, who is chief marketing officer for the Campus Society, an online service which connects university students to peers on similar courses, said he "didn't realise the conversion rate on Bitcoins".
Daniel said: "Bitcoins are worth about $220 each and I accidentally bought $550 worth.
"When I realised I decided I'd have to get a couple of pizzas out. It's a bit of a shock at how much it's taken off.
"I'm reading my emails at the moment and one of them just says 'What did you do last night? You okay?'
"I think I got out about 30 pizzas, and I've got 1,200 notifications on my account which will take a while to get through.

"The lesson here is don't drink and Reddit, but people seem very happy by it all."
Daniel had pizzas delivered to Chicago, Hawaii, and even one lucky user in the UK, which led to him being labelled the "Jesus of the Internet".
One happy user wrote: "Trashed and giving out pizzas is the best kind of person."
Another wrote: "Wow it's amazing how challenging it is for someone in the UK to order pizza for someone in the US, but it is far more amazing that you have taken it upon yourself to jump through all the hoops to do so.
"Not only that but instead of getting angry about obtaining a whole $500 in Bitcoin, you make it rain pizza instead!
"Never let it be said that this OP does not deliver. He delivers. To Hawaii even. Cheers to you, mate."
