Kit launches are often very dull affairs. Once you've seen your team's new shirt, do you REALLY need to see a player walking around in it? Probably not. So what can a club do to make their big unveiling interesting?
They could follow Juventus' example and attempt to scare the bejeezus out of everyone. They could try Lyon's trick and make it 'magical' . They could use this Mexican club's method and hope cheerleaders, acrobats and fire hold the public's attention.
Or they could keep it far more simple than all those things - and simply have scantily-clad women showing off their new kit.
That's the fairly basic approach Club Atletico Mineiro have taken. The Brazilian Serie A side wanted to make a big fuss of their latest strip unveiling, as it was a chance to show off new signing Robinho (one time most expensive player in British football history).
To be fair to the marketing men at the club, this "strategy" has certainly got them the attention they wanted.
However, on a more practical level, having women take their kit off is a weird way to advertise a kit you want fans to put on …
