Lull hail from London, a dense city, one that implies a certain intensity in day-to-day life.
The band's music, though, seems to dwell in beauty. Shoegaze with a crystalline touch, the layered effects are matched to sharply defined, truly emotive songwriting.
New EP 'Nouvelle' was released last month, with Vivid Radio able to premiere the video for the title cut. The music itself is deeply evocative, a succinct demonstration of just what makes Lull so special.
Partnering with a guest director for the shoot, the resulting video expanding on some of the themes inherent within the band's music.
Guitarist/vocalist Jon Billinge comments: "We worked with director Tom Palliser on the Nouvelle shoot. A lot of our songs carry motifs of the sea, but we knew that we didn't want anything too fussy or choreographed. There's always some sort of ebb and flow to our tracks, from these quiet rushes into these big waves, so it felt right to have the placid sea contrasting against Tom's kinetic camerawork. It's like the woozy reel of the lure before it gets cast off again, which is true to the song's heart."
