ADULT-FILM actress Mary Carey will be in town for a double jubilee this weekend as she celebrates her birthday and the 11th anniversary of the Gold Club (1416 Chancellor St.) in Center City.
Carey, famous for her flourishing career in porn, appearances on the VH1 reality-TV series "Celebrity Rehab" and for an unsuccessful bid for governor of California in 2003, has new aspirations, including a possible run for mayor of Philadelphia.
During a phone interview yesterday, Carey told me that she's likely abandoned her plans to run for president of the United States - a job for which she becomes eligible when she turns 35 on Monday.
"Ten years ago, when I ran for governor and made that joke, I had to put my age in [the] public record," she said. "But I'd like to start in a smaller position first. I'm thinking I'd like to move to Philly and become the mayor of Philadelphia and preside over Wing.

"Now that I've experienced it, I tell people there are two things to experience before you die. One is the Wing Bowl. The other is the AVN Awards. But I still put Wing Bowl ahead of the AVN awards."
Carey, a former Wingette, will be celebrating her birthday with adult-film star Lacey Rain, who's famous for her contortionist acts and stripper-pole acrobatics. They'll both be at the Gold Club tomorrow through Saturday.
