How to SLEEP NAKED

*Warning: PIRATE RADIO is on the air*

The notion of sleeping naked often turns people off. Many believe it’s unsanitary or uncomfortable. Only 10 percent of people in the United States reportedly actually sleep without pj’s.

What they don’t know, but what experts tell us is that sleeping sans clothing is actually healthier.
Sleeping naked produces a better quality sleep, according to Medical Daily. Sleep quality is directly related to the temperature of the room you’re sleeping in.

The best temperature for a good night’s sleep runs between 60 and 68 degrees, but no higher than 70. You may have noticed that your body temperature drops before you fall asleep, which it needs to for optimal rest. Too hot and you end up with a fitful sleep or no sleep at all. Sleeping naked allows your body to drop to its optimal sleep temperature. This is good news for those of us who have a hard time getting to sleep or are light or uneasy sleepers.

Sleeping naked also makes you look better. Sleeping at a lower temperature allows anti-aging hormones melatonin and the growth hormone to work their magic much better to make you look younger.
Sleeping naked helps you lose weight. How? When you’re naked you sleep better. When you sleep better your stress levels diminish and so do your cortisol levels - that evil hormone that causes belly fat. Without a good night’s rest cortisol levels become higher than normal when you wake, triggering hunger and stress eating, says Medical Daily.

Bonus for athletes: A 2012 study reported that better quality sleep can improve athletic performance with the release of the growth hormone. So, now that you know the benefits of sleeping naked, next time you head off to bed, try snoozing in your birthday suit.
