Black Dice musician Eric Copeland turned solo earlier this year, releasing new album 'Black Bubblegum' on DFA.
Essentially indescribable, the music drifts from absurdity to strictly serious in no time at all. In Copeland's own words:
"What can I say? Speed writing in reggae presents meets trashed gear pile-up in a rent-free basement, a little blurry around the edges, pictures of Jerry (Garcia’s) first, all finished before I started..."
Set to head out on tour in the United States this Autumn (that The Fall, for our American cousins) Eric Copeland is set to play support on a batch of dates with Animal Collective.
Before then, however, he's set to unveil the video for 'Kids In A Coma'. While the title is unsettling the music frequently skirts around squelching pop, while never fully settling into any one area.
The visuals are every bit as curious, and you can check 'em out first on Clash.
