The close of a relationship tends to unleash all manner of feelings.
Israel Nebeker knows this all too well. Distraught at the end of a 13 year relationship, he lost himself in music, using songwriting to channel his feelings.
Gathering Blind Pilot around him, the songwriter began to sketch out a new album, one rich in emotional and musical detail.
Produced by Tucker Martine, the resulting album was completed at Nebeker’s studio on Oregon’s north coast, in the town of Astoria.
New record 'And Then Like Lions' is out now, and it's a hugely impressive return. Blind Pilot took time out to record some live sessions at Bear Creek Studio recently, with Vivid Radio able to air a pretty special clip.
'Moon At Dawn' is fragrant Americana, a beautifully hewn and expertly controlled piece of music channelled with an almighty performance.
Check it out now.
