REVOKED for SEX crimes: ROLF HARRIS

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Rolf Harris has had his Order of Australia award cancelled followed his jailing for sex crimes against minors.

The decision was made by Governor General Peter Cosgrove and a notice filed by Mark Fraser, Secretary of the Order of Australia, at Government House today.

The announcement states:

It is notified for general information that the Governor-General has terminated the appointments of Officer and Member of the Order of Australia in the General Division, made to Mr Rolf Harris.

Harris was awarded the Order of Australia (AM) in 1989 and later had the honour upgraded to Officer (AO) for the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2012.

He still holds his British award for Commander of the British Empire (CBE) after first receiving the MBE (Member of the British Empire) in 1968 and upgrading to Officer of the British Empire (OBE) in 1997. Harris has held the CBE since 2006.

Rolf Harris is serving five years and nine months for indecently assaulting four girls from 1968 to 1986. He is currently serving his time at Stafford jail in the UK.
