In response to public criticism and doubts about her pregnancy, Kim Hyun Joong's ex-girlfriend has released text message conversations between the two that shows they continued to be involved in each other's lives after last year's court case.
Korean news agency Dispatch and Ms. Choi met each other on February 24. It was at this meeting that the text messages were revealed. The contents of the text messages, along with the dates they were sent, can be read below. Dispatch's transcripts referred to Ms. Choi as person "A".

A: I have everything. And since when have you cared about that.

KHJ: It’s nothing. It’s not hard to do. You miss me, right?

Ms. Choi explained that at the time, she was ready to move on with her life; however, according to her, Kim Hyun Joong was not. He continued to seek out her company throughout the month of September and October, and finally she gave in and returned to him.

Complications arose due to the the couple's history, particularly the court case she had filed against him. The strain made them reconsider being together again.

According to Ms. Choi, she and Kim Hyun Joong continued to be together until the end of 2014. They spent New Year's Eve and Day together, but on January 2, he went to Jeju Island with another woman who he had previously made plans with.
On the same day as his departure, Ms. Choi noticed weird symptoms. She took a pregnancy test on January 3 and found that she was pregnant. When Kim Hyun Joong returned home on January 5, she informed him of the pregnancy.

Ms. Choi says she does not have any plans to marry Kim Hyun Joong. She will allow him to continue to play a part in her pregnancy because it is his child, but she won't force him to either.
"Have you heard an ultrasound before? There’s a baby’s heart beating inside of me. From now on, I’ll be the one to manage this and take responsibility," she said.
