Benedict Cumberbatch and his pregnant wife Sophie looked incredibly loved up as they attended the 87th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday evening.
It was a special night for the actor, who was nominated for his role as Alan Turing in The Imitation Game, but sadly lost out to Eddie Redmayne.
However, it looks like Benedict was well prepared to drown his sorrows with a hip-flask he jokingly swigged from throughout the live broadcast.

The British actor took a swig from the silver canister during Neil Patrick Harris' opening monologue, just when the camera cut to the Best Actor nominee.
'Go away,' he mouthed to the camera while the audience laughed along.
Benedict, 38, wore a stand-out white tuxedo jacket over black trousers and a bow tie as he walked the red carpet at the Hollywood And Highland Center.

Sophie wore a stunning red one-shoulder dress by Lanvin and a matching slick of ruby lipstick. Her hair was styled into a Hollywood retro up do which flattered her features.
They later attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party where Benedict indulged in a cocktail or two, while Sophie stuck to soft drinks.
At the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts he chatted to Joan and Jackie Collins as well as Naomi Watts who presented an award with.

The actor also caught up with Selma star David Oyelowo who was sadly overlooked in the Best Actor category for his turn as Martin Luther King.
Meanwhile, Benedict's parents are backing Eddie Redmayne to win the award. Cumberbatch is nominated alongside the Theory of Everything star in the Best Actor category.
Whilst Timothy Carlton and Wanda Ventham are 'proud as punch' of their son, they think Eddie will pip him to the post.

Wanda told The Sun On Sunday: 'I'm so proud. I'm as proud as punch. We got here yesterday and we are so excited and happy. Though I think Eddie will clean the board.'
Timothy added: 'It's such an exciting moment for us as a family. I don't think even a good luck charm will work. Unless we count! I'm very proud. As an actor we understand how hard he's had to work to get to this point.'
Benedict brought his parents along on the night. As his son spoke to the media , Carlton leapt up waving his arms for a photobomb prank.

'I've wanted to do that ever since I saw Ben photobomb U2 and Meryl Streep ', Carlton said later. 'This was certainly the best place to photobomb your son', said Carlton.
Cumberbatch's parents are both actors and they also play the same role on Sherlock.
The star has had a great year so far, after tying the knot with Sophie Hunter last week.

He first met Sophie on the set of Burlesque Fairytales and Benedict's mother Wanda is incredibly excited about the new arrival.
He also told Baz Bamigboye for Daily Mail, that he couldn’t wait to prepare for the arrival of his first child - and the best role he’ll ever have, as a dad.
