Following a statement made by his ex-girfriend's lawyer, Kim Hyun Joong has backpedaled and clarified his position in a new statement regarding the pregnancy situation.
Yesterday, Kim Hyun Joong stated that "as soon as the pregnancy is confirmed, he will do his duty and take responsibility" for the child. The statement implied uncertainty that his ex-girlfriend Ms. Choi is pregnant, a sentiment that her lawyer refutes.
"There is enough evidence to confirm the pregnancy and we are considering publicly releasing the information," he lawyer said.
Kim Hyun Joong is now saying that he does not deny that his ex-girlfriend is pregnant, but is rather seeking confirmation "to clarify the situation". In addition, he and his parents say they want to check up on the ex-girlfriend and her unborn child's condition.
After news of the pregnancy went public, Kim Hyun Joong and his ex-girlfriend agreed to meet on February 24 at a hospital of her choice. Ms. Choi did not appear as agreed.
Ms. Choi is reportedly 4 months pregnant with Kim Hyun Joong's child. For this to be true, the two would have had to have sexual relations soon after she dropped assault charges against him in September of 2014.
Kim Hyun Joong and his ex-girlfriend have had a troubled relationship over the past year. The idol assaulted his ex-girlfriend over the summer of 2014, causing injuries series enough to land in her the hospital for weeks.
