It’s been just over a year now when Stoner linked up with Sho Shallow to give us ‘Nothing less’. They’re now reunited to present to us their latest tune ‘Winning’, which will be on Stoner’s newest EP ‘Stoner Organic’ that has yet to be released.
The music video starts off with scenic views of London supported by a soft melody. This is a familiar rap type from both artists that we’ve seen before in past music, like Sho Shallow’s ‘B&H’, and Stoner’s ‘Blind but breathing’ which talks about how Stoner is grateful for being alive even though he is one of the only UK rappers that are blind, showing that he’s unstoppable.
The softer beat prepares us for something different with Stoner and Sho Shallow’s hard rap to assist it, and we’re definitely not disappointed. This type of rap genre is making a come up as we’re now entering a more relaxed season. Compared to other rap artists that release more drill type music, it’s nice to have something where people can chill and vibes to music with deeper lyrics.
Stoner talks about how he doesn’t enjoy the life he’s living so he needs to make a difference in order to live a better one and to get to this he needs to do whatever it takes and grind to get there. Sho Shallow then goes on to agree with Stoner, he needs to get where he needs to, even if it means he’s sinning.
The song glorifies their success and how after all the obstacles, they’re ‘Winning’, check out the video above.
