Wait! I am Frank Finkle 3000 and this is my Conspiracy Theory.
Should we worry about the DOOMSDAY CLOCK as a threat?
My guest today is star of television, Mr. Peabody and his boy, Sherman.
"What year is this, Finkle?"
It's 2017, Mr. Peabody.
"That's strange...you see, I just came back from 1981 when the Doomsday Clock was turned back. And that was a year a man was elected who went to war with Honduras, funded a terrorist gang in Sandinista, and dared Russia to use a nuclear weapon with a Star Wars Initiative."
Gee, Mr. Peabody, maybe they know something we don't.
I have a question.
"Nonsense, Sherman. The Doomsday Clock is a concept not a real clock."
It is?
"Yes, it's a group of Atomic scientist who have been following a tradition from the 1940's to monitor the nuclear threat level of the world."
Wow! They must be really smart, Mr. Peabody.
Excuse me.
"Yes, they are. Smart enough to follow a science that started 2,400 years ago."
Wow! That's a long time.
Excuse me, this is my show.
"I'm simply explaining that Atomic scientist are not exposed to special information."
They must get some information from somewhere.
"Yes, they get their information from the same place we all get our information. From newspapers, television, magazines, and the internet."
You mean?
"Yes, the Doomsday Clock is nothing more than a bunch of smart, but average people, sitting around and talking sports. And in this case, the sport is Atomic science."
So, the closer to twelve it gets?
"It means nothing. You're not going to die if the clock strikes twelve no more than you're going to live longer if the clock is moved back to 10:15."
I find that hard to believe.
"Let's go, Sherman. We haven't gone far enough into the future yet."
Did you know you're not wearing pants?
