A former substitute school nurse in Talladega County faces charges after authorities say she took medications meant for students at the schools she worked in,according to The Daily Home.
Brandi Leigh Butler, 38, of Lincoln, faces nine counts of receiving amphetamines and one count of possession of oxycodone, according to the report. She was arrested March 4 and was still listed as being in the Talladega County Jail Friday.
Butler was interviewed and arrested by Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force agents after school officials reported problems with the drugs at the school. The Daily Home reported that the amphetamines are often used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorders and were legitimately used by students.
School officials told The Daily Home she has been removed from the substitute list.
Butler's bond was set at $25,000 for each charge.
