Adna - 'Overthinking'

Adna went through a period of travel, a period of reflection, before finding her roots in Berlin.
Using the city as a base, the songwriter has begun to sketch out plans for her third record, allowing these fresh surroundings to seep into her music.
New cut 'Overthinking' leads the way. It's a beautifully introverted return, all hushed ambience and slow-moving melody.

Adna says that the song "was written about a year ago in some kind of apathy state of mind, inspired by that time and all about the contrasts."
"I believe we all have a dark place inside of us, some more aware of it than others, and we all have our own way of dealing with it. I tried embracing mine, which led to finding a home within it, but also of course - the making of this record."
Check out the video for 'Overthinking' below.
Directors: Adna, Marcus Nyberg and Steven Warburton
Producers and photographers: Marcus Nyberg and Steven Warburton
Music recorded by Adna, mixed and mastered by Simon Hagström Rennerstedt

Brodka - 'Up In The Hill'

Brodka's awareness of the need to construct of pop universe extends to every portion of her visual output.
The Polish musician directs herself in the clip for 'Up In The Hill', a highlight of her recent really-rather-good studio album 'Clashes'.
The track itself has a slight 60s vibe, and Brodka takes this into the lavish, carefully constructed clip. A feast for the eyes, it features vintage instruments and kaleidoscopic visuals, with Brodka at the centre of it all.

She explains: "I've always wanted to have a video where a band actually performs music live. ‘Up In The Hill’ has this vibe of psychedelic 60s rock, so I got inspired by all these amazing TV studio performances. As a stage backdrop, I used this beautiful piece of fabric designed by Aleksandra Wasilkowska that we used on my summer tour. The eye became the theme of the whole video. Everything turns into one big psychedelic trip, with Jodorowsky mixing it up with Queen..."

Alexx A-Game x Swing Ting - 'A-Game Everyday'

'A-Game Everyday'

Every sickness needs a cure and, what with the news that our pals across the pond have elected the feminist, definitely not racist, bastion of truth that is Donald Trump to be their next president, it’s only right that we try and do our bit. If music be the food of love, and all that…
Mancunian dancehall ambassadors Swing Ting round out a sterling set of 2016 releases with a link-up between the clubnight-cum-label’s co-founders Samrai & Platt and Jamaican vocalist Alexx A-Game.
The tune, a reworking of reggae-hop hit ‘A-Game Everyday’, blends a bouncing acid bassline with the kind of infectious rhythm that typifies all that Swing Ting are about. And it’s been doing plenty of damage on the dancefloor this year already, with the likes of Murlo, Toddla T and The Heatwave giving it regular rotations.
The video was filmed out in Kingston, Jamaica earlier this year, in conjunction with a daytime session organised alongside the inimitable Equiknoxx collective.
The track drops on Friday via all your usual digital outlets.

Drive-By Truckers "Surrender Under Protest"

Some protests are subtler than others, but that doesn't mean the Drive-By Truckers' latest album American Band is any less impactful. The LP was a searing condemnation of the state of America, and now "Surrender Under Protest" from the record has been given the music video treatment.

The new clip was directed by Lance Bangs and is described as "a gritty portrait of today's America within the Black Lives Matter movement, done in the style of the Clash's 'London Calling.'"

Performance footage of the band doing the Mike Cooley-led track gets cut with scenes of police, anti-police brutality demonstrations, and regular folks going about everyday life.
