Bo Derek, your dad's go-to point of comparison for every woman you happen to casually mention as being hot, has decided to reflect on her life and career. In addition to the usual rote points that all stars of a certain age love to hammer home, Derek also admits that she objectified herself early in her career, and frankly, your dad doesn't give a shit because he'd still bang her.
In a new interview with Ben Tracy of CBS News, Derek confesses that her beauty was a commodity to her, and not her identity, despite your dad's inability to name a movie in which she appeared in fully clothed.
Tracy asked, "Do you think you made the right choices?""I do," Bo replied. "Not in terms of being a star, not in terms of winning an award. But I had a blast. And anything I wanted to do, someone would finance."Their movies (such as "Tarzan, the Ape Man" and "Bolero") were often less about dialogue and more about how little Bo Derek was wearing."I'm not complaining," she said, "because what I did as soon as I became famous is, I objectified myself. I thought, 'Well, if this is what it is, I'm going to do it.'"How did she objectify herself? "I created my own posters, I made my own movies. I produced them. Maybe I could've gone out to prove, 'Oh, I'm a real actress, I'm not a physical being.' But I pretty much exploited myself, too, at the same time."
It's nice to see an actress attain a level of self-awareness that transcends Hollywood phoniness, and it's also nice to see that she still looks fantastic.
When shown the above picture, your dad proceeded to go into a momentary trance, in which the following images replayed over and over again in his head...
Your mom, meanwhile, just shook her head and gave him a look as if to say, "Oh, you" before going back to cooking dinner.
