The journalist Ana Paula Nogueira, who first started the movement in 2013 through Facebook, told Efe that the idea was never "bring together 8,000 women" in the protest, but "the matter is being discussed."
The movement Topless In Rio, it held in the same place in December 2013 their first meeting, seeks to change the law that currently prohibits women go naked to the waist, which they also consider a comparative grievance with the men, who there are bound to respect this rule.
The ban on naked from the waist up contrasts with the usual Brazilian and Brazilian use of tiny bikinis and bathing suits.
Moreover, Nogueira wanted to highlight the presence of some men in the protest because "in the first edition men were very aggressive with the girls and so they ended up not doing topless."
Among the participants, a local famous Renata Frisson and the exmodelo Natache IamayĆ”, that due to a degenerative disease currently requires a wheelchair, who wanted his presence show its support for the movement was.
