The Screen Actors Guild award made headlines for awarding two black women two of the biggest awards of the night, but despite the historic occasion, not everyone was quite in touch.
As Uzo Aduba took away the Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her performance in Orange Is The New Black and Viola Davis accepted the gong for Best Actress In A Drama Series for her hit show How To Get Away With Murder, Rashida Jones had just been questioned about her ‘tanned’ appearance on the red carpet.
TNT correspondent Danielle Demski made the gaffe when questioning the actress on her “very tan” appearance.
Rashida, who is mixed race and whose father is music legend Quincy Jones, walked the red carpet in a plunging white and black print gown with a bright blue detail, was asked about her dress for the evening when Demski made the remark.
"You look like you've just come off an island or something. You're very tan. Very tropical," the red carpet reporter told the Parks and Recreation star.
Laughing off the awkward moment on live television, Rashida said: “I mean, you know, I'm ethnic."
