What is wrong with a Universal Basic Income.

"Whatever, robot boy...I'm AGAINST this Universal Basic Income nonsense, because it makes the peasants lazy! And they need to be working!"
But, the way it works is, every citizen gets a basic income from the government no matter if they are working or unemployed.
"Yes...from the precious tax payer no doubt. People are lazy! Poverty is the only motivator for these peasants to leave the house and do anything!"
Basic Income doesn't eliminate human desire. Humans have a desire to work for the greater collective. Workers will build houses and produce things for the better good.
"Oh yes...that sounds like a horrible idea. If I'm the employer, I would have to MOTIVATE these peasants to work for me? How will I do that?"
You can treat them like humans.
"You mean, I should...kill them?"
No, you should expect them to work for you, not out of fear of poverty, but the need to help.
"You're a robot aren't you?"
Yes.
"Well, I didn't go to college so I could be part of a some Socialist do-gooder experiment."
I see. So, did you go to college to be a selfish greedy douchebag?
