Lin Yingying, 22, woke up from a deep coma after fears she may have died.

Yet doctors were left stunned when she claimed the man by her side was responsible for her injuries.

She claimed he struck her repeatedly on the head after she burnt some bread in the bakery they co-own.

She said it was her dad's encouragement that made her speak out against her attacker, local media reported in Lianong, China.

Boyfriend Liu Fenghe, 25, spent £200,000 yuan (£21,687) on his girlfriend's medical bills.

Lin's dad told her: "You have died once, what more are you afraid of? It's time to confront reality."

Her injuries were said to have been similar to those of a person may suffer after falling from a five-storey building.
