Toronto-based indie rock outfit CAIRO released their debut LP A History of Reasons earlier this year, and they're heading back out on the road in support of it this fall. Before they embark on the upcoming string of shows, the band have given Exclaim! the first look at their new video for "With You."
The clip takes viewers into the homes of bandmates Nate Daniels and Caitlin Grieve, converted into video sets, as well as delivers shots of spectacular autumn scenery. "Lost love, loneliness and desperation" are juxtaposed with the beauty of the outdoors, highlighting the "duplicity of life's greatest experiences."
Transforming Daniels' apartment into the drug den shown in the finished product led to a close run-in with his landlord and frenzied explanations, and they also had to contend with a near-disastrous fire on set. Thankfully, the band and crew pulled through and the result is both emotional and gorgeous to look at.
A History of Reasons is out now on MapleMusic Recordings. Watch the video premiere of "With You" in the player below.
