V9 drops new freestyle on Krown Media’s HeatSeeker series. 

After the release of some heavy tracks, including tracks such as Charged Up, Homerton’s V9 joins the Heatseeker series with a serious new freestyle. V9 effortlessly delivers raw lyricism over a dark drill sound, produced by SB Got Banger and Jony, and showcases his musical developments. As his career progresses, he’s getting better, and this is just a further example of that.

Keep your eyes on V9, because if this freestyle is anything to go by, then he’s levelling all the way up this year!

WavyGang join forces with K2 and Mvrnie for their brand new collaborative single Playtime.

It’s a Birmingham link up, as we see WavyGang enlist K2 and Mvrnie for their brand new single Playtime. All artists are signed to Maffia Records, so it’s only right that the duo, rapper and singer collaborate.

Playtime suits its title as the track is playful and fun, giving off great energy. WavyGang are front and centre delivering feel-good lyrics, whilst K2 makes a notable feature with his signature flow and smooth rap lyrics. All the while, Mvrnie’s sweet vocals are in the background, adding sauce to the already melodic vibe of the song. And what a surprise to see Maf Dot You, CEO of Maffia Records, not only make a cameo, but also come through with a lyrical feature too!

There’s a party in the visuals, and all of the artist’s involved can be seen living lavish in the club surrounded by pretty ladies, whilst the bottles are flowing. It really is Playtime, as everybody appears to be enjoying themselves—which is the energy we love to see.

Rex & Beano make a return with their wavy new track entitled Peter Pan.

East London-born afro-swing duo Rex and Beano have been releasing some hot tracks, and the latest in their endeavours is new single Peter Pan.

Peter Pan is a wavy track with a feel-good vibe. From the bouncy beat, to the playful way in which they deliver their lyrics about being on the winning team, and the girls that they don’t like, everything makes this track sound funky and fresh. It’s a song that you can dance to, but you can also listen to it as you’re chilling comfortably.

The visuals add to the feel-good element of things, as from Rex and Beano interacting with one another, to hopping on the stairs with their guys, it looks like they’re enjoying themselves and that energy can be felt.

Dizzee Rascal shares new video for Quality, from his EP Don’t Gas Me. 

Grime pioneer, Dizzee Rascal has recently returned. Last year, he released his latest EP Don’t Gas Me, and now he has unveiled the visuals to featured track Quality, which is Dizzee’s personal favourite track on the EP. Quality samples the classic 1992 hardcore track The Sound Of Music by Nookie, and Dizzee does the sample justice as he expresses his thoughts on fame and influence from his perspective.

Directed by Joel Spencer, the Quality visuals are of pure quality, and capture Dizzee at Chrisp Street on the Lansbury estate in Poplar. The visuals are effortlessly impressive, as they give a sense of nostalgia from the spitting of bars in the shubs, to just kicking it on the stairs of the estate.

Although Dizzee brings the energy with his vocals, the beat and visuals are quite laid back, creating an interesting contrast. Quality is a track worth checking out, it feels familiar yet brand new at the same time.
