Arkells "Knocking at the Door"

Arkells fans were recently treated to the surprise new single "Knocking at the Door," and now the raucous tune has been matched up with a music video.
 
The song has been blasting through sports bars everywhere as part of a recent Toronto Blue Jays-themed Budweiser commercial, but now you can check out the band's own original visuals for the track.
 
It was filmed at various locations around Toronto, and keeping in line with the sports-friendly bombast of the song, the clip captures boxing matches and sprinting runners — not to mention flaming basketballs, baseballs and skateboards.
 
"All the old Arkells fans like it because I scream a bit, and new Arkells fans like it because it's also kinda modern and poppy," frontman Max Kerman said in a statement, explaining the appeal of the single. "We like it because it's the most adventurous and exciting thing we've done yet. Who knew we could have such a fun ride with one surprise song?"

Blondie "Long Time"

Blondie have been teasing the arrival of their latest LP Pollinator with tracks like "Fun" and the Blood Orange-assisted "Long Time," and now the latter has been treated to a music video.
 
The clip takes viewers to the city that kickstarted Blondie's career decades ago — New York. Shots of frontwoman Debbie Harry recklessly driving a customized Blondie cab down the dark streets get spliced together with footage of the band manning their instruments. It was directed by Dikayl Rimmasch, who recently contributed to Beyoncé's Lemonade visual album.

Kendrick Lamar "DNA."

Kendrick Lamar released his dazzling DAMN. LP last week, and not even a full seven days removed from the drop, the rapper has shared a video for the album's urgent "DNA."

Directed by Nabil & the Little Homies (Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment president Dave Free), the clip opens with a suited Don Cheadle interrogating Kendrick inside a warehouse. His lie detector tactics are no match for the mind of Kung Fu Kenny, however, with the rapper freeing himself after some back-and-forth with Cheadle's character.



With the beat switch comes greyscale footage of Kendrick rapping his furious final verse, loaded with jump cuts of him shooting dice in the street and playing pool in a room with some shiny Grammy awards on display.

Adaline "Entertainer"

Adaline is finally set to follow-up Modern Romantics with a new LP titled Aquatic, and VIVID is giving you an exclusive first look at the video for "Entertainer" off the upcoming album.
 
Like the title implies, the musical ideas behind Aquatic were conceived by the ocean, and the theme carries through lyrics that are soaked with metaphors of baptism and beginning again.
 
"Entertainer" encapsulates Adaline's search for real connection in a world of "cruel falsehoods and misplaced expectations" — seeking out something more than mere entertainment in a relationship. "I find it a common sentiment in my generation: we're looking for something just a little more profound," she says.
 
As for the accompanying video, it was shot in black and white, and captures the singer and her backing band in the throes of a live-off-the-floor performance. It marks the first of a six-song concert series that will be completely unveiled after the release of the new album.

"This intimate performance of 'Entertainer' was recorded live off the floor at Cylinder Sound in Toronto, where the album was written and recorded," Adaline tells VIVID "It was amazing to perform these songs live for the first time in the setting where the songs were created. Felt very much like performing in my living room with some of my favourite musicians. This project really felt like working with family — the people who filmed and recorded the audio were the same people who engineered and mixed the record."
 
Aquatic will arrive in its entirety on June 2 via Cadence Music Group. In the meantime, get reacquainted with Adaline by watching the video for "Entertainer" down below.
 

Old Wives "Lying Through My Drink"

Edmonton rockers the Old Wives will release their latest full-length record Three next month, and ahead of its arrival, VIVID is giving you an exclusive look at the brand new video for "Lying Through My Drink."
 
The clip captures the pop-punk unit plugging in and jamming it out together in a rehearsal space, before taking their live performance to a rowdy crowd. Naturally, it's best watched and listened to at a high volume.

Lydia Ainsworth "Into the Blue"

Lydia Ainsworth recently returned with her sophomore full-length Darling of the Afterglow, and now "Into the Blue" from that same record has been given the visual treatment.
 
The gorgeous, glitched-out synth-pop jam has been paired with a clip that takes viewers just where the title implies — underwater. Intricate, fluid choreography that mirrors the movement of water itself is set against a backdrop of floating jellyfish.
