Seeing Hands have been quietly making waves in Newcastle for some time now, with their shows sparking word of mouth buzz in the city's close-knit musical community.
Debut single 'I Knew You' was recorded in their home town, and it's billed as the first in a series of releases from the dream pop outfit.
It's certainly a succinct and addictive introduction. The vocals pirouette up into the sky, while crystalline synths mingle effortlessly with reverb-drenched guitars.

Life is pain until you find your calling, and sometimes your calling is weird. With that in mind, BC band Blessed are tapping into some zen freakiness via the sniff-heavy video for their "Waving Hand."
Directed by Range of Nakasone Folk, the vid finds a group of landscapers feeling down on a ditch-digging job. To cope with their unhappiness, they take a break to whip off their shirts and "snedge." You'll have to watch the video to find out exactly what that means, but one of the figure's girlfriends doesn't seem particularly stoked about the newfound past time.

JD and the Sunshine Band is a Winnipeg collective that brings musicians and street-involved people together for artistic collaborations, and they just dropped their sophomore record, Soaking Up the Rays, this week. To celebrate the occasion, Vivid is giving you an exclusive glimpse at their brand new video for album cut "The King Is Gone."
Described as "part bar-country, part hippie-folk," the band's roster isn't set in stone, sometimes growing to include up to 15 members. It's Adrian Spence that takes the lead on vocals for "The King Is Gone," sharing the spotlight with frontman and group namesake JD Ormond.
The tune is actually a George Jones classic, but JD and the Sunshine Band put their own drunken, dive-y spin on it — an aesthetic mirrored in the rowdy accompanying video.

Following the release of last year's Music Complete and its more recent extended version, New Order are looking back to the album once again for a new video.
The clip is for the synth-pop lifers' latest Music Complete single, "People on the High Line," which comes with some extra vocal help from Elly Jackson (La Roux). As for the actual clip, it was directed by Jackson Ducasse and features the mad breakdancing skills of Hakim Saber and B-Girl Lyra.

Along with appearing on the Mute-released Music Complete, "People on the High Line" will arrive as a 7-inch picture disc on October 21, coming loaded with Richard X's radio mix and an exclusive mix from Claptone.

Minneapolis rap vets Atmosphere put their hooks in the water last month with the release of Fishing Blues, but a new video for album cut "The Shit That We've Been Through" focuses on a different type of sharp object.
Directed by Andrew Melby, the video takes a look at a tattoo being worked on by artist Eric Eckert of SoCal Tattoo. The inspiration, of course, comes from the song's lyrics "A little ink with a kiss and a wink."
Fishing Blues is out now through Rhymesayers Entertainment, while Atmosphere kick off a Western Canada stretch of their North American tourtonight in Winnipeg. Watch the video for "The Shit That We've Been Through" in the player below.
