Grime List: FOOTSIE

Footsie’s back after practically traveling the world and whilst on his travels he managed to shoot a video in Australia. This Grime banger is also produced by Footsie and is also a official single release plus the 4th video Footsie has dropped on SBTV this year. ‘On This Ting’ is the follow up to ‘Work All Day’ and is being released on his own label Braindead Entertainment. Footsie has assured us that there’s loads more to come.

Grime List: MERIDIAN DAN

Following on from the release of ‘The Bits’ a month or so back, Meridian Dan returns to drop off his latest offering titled ‘In The Street’.

The track sees Dan profess, “When you see me in the street, show man love”, over a beat that appears to sample Big Sean’s “Why don’t ya say waddup though when you see me in the streets” lyrics on his 2012 single ‘GUAP’.

FUTURE "Blow A Bag" release

Future just announced his upcoming DS2, and having already shared the track "Blow a Bag," he's now given the song a video. 

Although Future hails from Atlanta, the clip for this heavy-lidded Auto-Tune rap track is a tribute to the hedonism of life in Los Angeles. After some shots of the city skyline, we see Future posing with a fancy car and throwing around stacks of money while accompanied by a woman in a red dress. Evidently he didn't get permission to use brand logos, since numerous objects appear pixelated. 

The clip was directed by Rick Nyce. Watch it below. 

DS2 will be out digitally on July 17 via Epic/Sony Music. 

THE HELIO SEQUENCE "Battle Lines" release

Pacific Northwest indie pop mainstays the Helio Sequence have been keen on offering up colourful animated videos to promote their spring-released self-titled album. They're keeping pace throughout the summer, having just let loose a rotoscoped piece of whimsy behind the record's "Battle Lines." 

While the track itself plays out via relaxed dance-rock grooves and diamond glitter guitar lines, the visuals are noticeably busier. As you'll see down below, ink and paint swirls about the screen to form, if only for a micro-second, various figures. 

Elsewhere, a hand-drawn body dances through a PeeWee's Playhouse-inspired room of geometric decor, while animator Emanuele Kabu has traced over a real-time performance from the Helio Sequence and covered it in neon rays of light.

FEAR FACTORY "ProtoMech" release

Tech-obsessed metal vets Fear Factory are pondering the state of our steadily-digitizing world in the latest deafening preview from their upcoming GenexusLP. If you too have some concerns about the shifting dynamics between man and machine, give cautionary tune "ProtoMech" a spin down below. 

The track appears in a new lyric video that presents Burton C. Bell's words plastered above a bunch of brilliant, fiber optic backdrops. While the track is confrontational in its earliest moments—just check the viciously picked, percussive six-stringing and frenetic double kick work—the song soon surges into a near-symphonic closing passage. While lovely, it still comes with the half-screamed summary: "My life is taken to feed the machine."

EMPIRE OF THE SUN "Celebrate" release

Fans can always count on psychedelic electro-pop outfit Empire of the Sun to use wildly colourful, over-the-top imagery, and their new video for "Celebrate" doesn't disappoint. 

The clip for this thumping, danceable anthem from 2013's Ice on the Dune has a Japanese theme. We see frontman Luke Steele walk through the Japanese city streets while glowing with blue electric energy. He participates in a solo karaoke session and eventually dons one of his signature outfits with a glittering, intergalactic crown. Meanwhile, all of the lyrics are translated into Japanese at the bottom of the screen.
