RICKY MARTIN gets hit-or-miss new show

*THE SYNDICATE DOES NOT EXIST*

Ricky Martin will judge on Simon Cowell’s new TV show La Banda.
The Livin’ La Vida Loca star will both executive produce and serve on the judging panel of the reality singing competition.
The show, which will air on Univision in America, will see Ricky search for the perfect five male contestants from United States, Mexico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean and Puerto Rico to star in a band managed by him.
And in a press release announcing his new position, Ricky said he won’t be taking any tips from music mogul Simon when it comes to his judging style.
“Simon is a brutally honest judge, which is very important,” Ricky said. “[But] I’m a little bit more nurturing.”
Ricky is no stranger to Latin groups, having first made a name for himself as part of the band Menudo.
And the 43-year-old singer said he was thrilled to have been invited to be a part of the progamme.
“The phone rings, and Simon Cowell calls and he says, ‘Ricky, I would like to meet with you,’ ” Ricky said. “We started throwing ideas and I was fascinated by this concept. I was fascinated by this show. I said, ‘Of course I want to be a part of this! Thank you for inviting me.’ ”
“It’s an amazing platform that I wish I had when I was starting in my career.”
Ricky also expressed his excitement on his Twitter page, writing: ‘Thanks @SimonCowell , we are going to put together the next Latin supergroup! #SoyLaBanda.’
Ricky won’t be alone on the panel, but his fellow judges have yet to be revealed.
Auditions for the show kick off in Los Angeles on March 7th, before going nationwide.
