A 'greatest hits' album is usually a point for a band to look backwards, to grant themselves a little nostalgia for their career.
Searching through the archives for their own compilation, Starsailor no doubt felt a few of these emotions. Yet the band also looked to the future, using this as an opportunity, as a platform to inspire new material.
'Good Souls: The Greatest Hits' will be released on September 18th, and it will be accompanied by Starsailor's first full length headline tour in five years.
A reminder of the breadth of this band's career, the greatest hits compilation also features some bracing new material.
'Give Up The Ghost' is a vivid, driving return, with James Walsh explaining: "'Give Up The Ghost' came from the energy of being back together after so much time. It's about not being ready to give up on something despite the challenges that you face."
