YBN’s latest breakthrough artist YBN Cordae comes through with a reply for the old school rappers as he lets us know his views on the Hip-Hop game, tackling J. Cole’s ‘1985’.
Cordae raps from the younger generation’s perspective and shares some knowledge being a newcomer in the rap game. He also lets the older generation know not everyone is perfect, taking shots at R. Kelly whilst also showing love to the legendary Mos Def.
YBN Cordae’s lyricism and delivery shows the young folk still have it and is a good reply to J. Cole. Cole dropped ‘1985’ off his new album K.O.D which was released at the end of April, and saw the Dreamville rapper give advice to the likes of Lil’ Pump and SmokePurpp, artists who talk heavily on the use of drugs such as percocet. J. Cole talks on how new artists should manage their money better and how touring is key to staying successful in the rap game.
Check out YBN Cordae’s response above, and J. Cole’s original ‘1985’ below.
