Every year I see imagines from the Polar Plunge in Chicago where people pay good money to jump into freezing cold, ice filled water. I know it’s raising money for charity, but damn it I think those people are crazy. In Australia they have something similar, only it’s warm and they go skinny-dipping.
Sydney Skinny at Cobblers Beach, now in its third year, is a chance for those who are daring to get nude and go for a little swim. Of course it’s not open to everyone, you have to be at least 18-years old, and you can’t just come and watch; they have security guards and security boats to keep onlookers away, but apparently not photographers. This event raises money for the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife and it continues to grow in popularity. People from all over are coming down to Cobblers Beach for the chance to skinny dip, and many people say they are looking forward to doing it again next year.
I wonder if the people from the Free The Nipple campaign might want to create an event like this. Jumping into icy cold water is not something I would even consider doing, but jumping into a warm ocean with nothing on… I’d seriously consider it. I mean, if it was for a good cause, how could I say 'no'?
