There's something about Majical Cloudz that is just absolutely devastating.
Perhaps it's the sense of control. The electronics are sparse, suggestive, the layers of sound delicately yet expertly pieced together.
The vocals, meanwhile, tend to tell it like it is. Language is poetic yet unadorned, emotive without lapsing into the mawkish.
New album 'Are You Alone' is out on October 16th, with new cut 'Downtown' online now. It's a wonderful track, the repeated phrase 'I'm going crazy for you...' providing a warm, uplifting note, packed with love and empathy.
