Slowthai knows how to bring an audience in and he’s done it once again for his latest single ‘Polaroid’, a jumpy track which sees the rapper let us in on his life. He’s been pretty consistent of late and recently jumped into the ‘COLORS’ studio to lay down ‘Ladies’, a stand out track which comes with its own visuals too.
Directed by the talented THE REST, ‘Polaroid’ finds Slowthai on a hospital bed with his face bloodied as he unwraps his bandages and makes his way out the building. Every video seems to bring out a different side of Slowthai as he takes you through a musical journey with his compelling scenes, and this is a testament to his director THE REST who understands the rappers vision. “Couple times I lost my friends, couple times I got new ones”, this is the first of many bars where Slowthai lets us in on some home-truths and the bar goes hand-in-hand as he links up in the car park with his boys before getting lit in the back of a car.
Produced by Andy Picton, ‘Polaroid’ is dark and gets the best out of Slowthai every time the beat drops causing the rapper to create a different energy as mobile phones try to get a snap of him. He just wants to be left alone as he goes to the café for a traditional English breakfast.
