If you’ve been keeping up with your socials this week you may have come across newcomers Rimey and Stacks, who released their newest track ‘Mo Ti So Pele’, exclusive to Mixtape Madness.
With both Rimey and Stacks deciding to each take a break from music despite their extensive musical background, the 20 year old South and East London rappers have linked up as a duo to deliver this very surprising banger. Immediately upon seeing the title of the track you may be wondering how ‘Mo Ti So Pele’ even came about, however when asked about the Yoruba phrasing embedded in the song the pair say that the inspiration came from ‘…hanging around friends who are from Nigeria, so hearing the language daily played a huge part’. They also further to mention that ‘It’s just different, we had never seen white rappers speaking Yoruba in a song’. Stacks, who wrote and performed the Nigerian lyrics is also the man behind the final edit their new video, which was directed by independent record label A-bridge Music.
Rimey and Stacks are one of the very few artists we’ve seen so far on the A-bridge Music roster and it is already clear that they have some exciting bodies of work on the way, with a few singles ready to drop this Summer.
You heard it here first, check out the visuals to ‘Mo Ti So Pele’ above and it also available to stream on all major digital platforms.
