Many of you may remember newcomer Lukwatsss’ track Mona Lisa that gained global recognition back in February. A snapchat groupchat and 500,000 streams later, here he is with fresh new visuals directed by none other than Kaylum Dennis.
We see the Deptford teenager in the heart of Paris alongside his own ‘Mona Lisa’ played by an eye-catching French model, however when asked who ‘Mona Lisa’ is, the rising star explains that the song title does not refer to one person and that the idea behind the song is that “…everyone should have a Mona Lisa. It’s just about something that someone is chasing.”
The popularity of his first track has come at a very crucial time for Lukwatsss who only last year, was playing football for Fulham Academy, though his football career came to an end. Luckily, music had always been one of his hobbies outside of football so naturally became his new focus, and after connecting with producer Nathaniel London, Mona Lisa was written within just two months.
With such a refreshing journey so far, Lukwatsss has already become one to watch this year and many are already curious about his future bodies of work. Is there a ‘Mona Lisa’ remix in the works?
