Tottenham heartthrob Chip has dropped the hotly anticipated new video for ‘Honestly’, which features guest vocals from 67 members Dimzy and LD. The track serves as the second single from Chip’s forthcoming third album League of My Own 2, following on from ‘Gets Like That’ which he dropped last month. Both songs were produced by Toronto titan Tre Mission, and the intro to ‘Honesty’ samples an announcement from Tre’s nearby Don Mills subway station.
The grandiose video, directed by Carly Cussen and styled by Chip’s manager Ashley-Rae Tapping, sees the three rappers draped in designer and looking regal, playing poker and pouring drinks inside a country manor house. On the song, they reiterate the mantra that honestly is the best policy, and Chip proudly mentions that his status in the music scene has allowed him to “get money by honest means”. Meanwhile, Dimzy expresses disillusionment with the authorities, musing: “So we’re charting, got an award / But the feds wanna put it to an end.”
‘League of My Own 2′ drops 11 August and is available to pre-order now from all good retailers.
