Little Simz enlists Cleo Sol for new single Selfish, from the forthcoming album Grey Area.
North London-hailing artist, Little Simz, teams up with fellow London-based songstress, Cleo Sol, for their brand new collaborative effort Selfish. Selfish is the new track from Little Simz forthcoming album Grey Area, which is set to be released on March 1. If you would like to pre-order, or pre-save, the album, click here.
Selfish opens up with Cleo Sol exuding pure soul, before Little Simz begins to deliver her introspective lyricism with an effortless flow. The combination of a smooth rap style with airy vocals blends into an ethereal feeling, that captures listeners attention whilst embodying a sense of peace. The track speaks of being unapologetically selfish, boasting of new found confidence and setting boundaries. For some, it may be taken as a declaration of self-love.
Director Jeremy N Cole captures the simple 70s-esque visuals, set in a dimly-lit environment, and perfectly edited to fit with the feel of the song. Both artists seem to be in their element, looking relaxed and comfortable, whilst allowing the music to speak for itself. It’s a great track and visual combo.
