The track has been making waves ever since A$AP Rocky’s ‘Testing’ album was released, and now ‘Praise The Lord’ has been blessed with some stunning visuals.
Directed by Dexter Navy who created ‘Money Man’, a previous track which saw Rocky and Skepta collaborate, ‘Praise The Lord’ is eye catching and details the culture of two big cities across the globe. The video is mainly in split-screen action, as we see many contrasts between A$AP’s New York and London which is the home of Skeppy. Whilst being miles apart, many comparisons strike.
Both men spit their verses surrounded by their people whilst being outside their own ‘spots’. A$AP Rocky flexes outside a corner store in Harlem as Skepta parks off outside an estate. The pair also show why their fashion icon’s. Rocky comes through in a swaggy yellow trench coat, with a bullet proof vest underneath surrounded by chains and pearls. Skepta shows love to the old school Garage/Grime days as he sports an Avirex leather jacket with an eskimo hat to match. The split-screen then combines an image of a joint rolled. This pays homage to the making of ‘Praise The Lord’ as A$AP Rocky previously stated the pair made the track whilst being ‘high’ in the studio.
‘Praise The Lord’ is gritty and is already a fan favourite with many who support the two artists. Flacko and Skepta have already performed the hit in London and more recently in Barcelona for the ‘Primavera Sound’ festival and expect many more performances for the popular track.
